Just. Awesome.
Ive always been a fan of X-Men, but never really commited myself to reading alot of the comics. Mostly because it never had much violence in it. Well, let me re-phrase, It never had alot of R rated bloody violence. Im going to have to give this a 4.5 out of 5, because its finally a real adult version of X-Men, X-Force: Sex & Violence is now on the top of my awesome list.
The art alone is enough to buy all 3 issues, its beautiful, but dark. It really helps set the serious side to the comic. The deep colors and intense lighting make you feel like your watching a movie. The way some of the characters are posed make the book more dramatic. Art has always been a big issue to me, not good art, not a good book, thats what I always say. Its sexy alright.
Another great part about this issue, of course, are the fight scenes, though it wasnt packed to the brim with fight scenes, the ones you did get to witness are amazing. Wolverine is actually getting his claws bloody. Domino is BA as ever and her gun slinging skills are most impressive, And the Guild of Assassins are as deadly as ever. Plus, no better way to end a fight scene, than with a- well, you just gotta read it.
At times the dialogue feels miss-placed, But I think its a must buy for all you die-hard X-Men fans, but its also a great time to jump into the X-Force series if your new.
