It's An "X-Force" Book, It's Good
I could either write a normal review or just tell you that it's an "X-Force" chapter of "Second Coming." The crossover storyline has had its ups and downs, but not one down has come in the "X-Force" book.
Mike Choi and Sonia Obeck turn in another gorgeous issue. I wish those two were cloned to do every issue of "Second Coming" because the art gives this issue an epic feel. Even without an inker, the lines are tight and clean. The characters don't share recycled body frames, everyone looks like an individual, and the face work is brilliant. Again, there's silent pages that allow the art to shine. It's a great looking issue that makes you wish Mike Choi could have handled all the art.
I won't delve too deep into the story. It's predictable but handled fairly well. I felt like Cable/Hope and the Hope/Bastion fight were done right. Craig Kyle and Chris Yost did a great job as they have in the other two "X-Force" chapters. No scene felt cheesy, no line felt corny, and it was a strong action-packed with good character moments book from start to finish.
If you're like me and have been following "Second Coming" on and off then you need to pick up this issue. It's another great issue of X-Force. One more chapter to go so let's see how it all ends.
