    No matter how much I know about the Summers Clan, I still can't help being amazed by this issue.  Here we had a huge reveal that opened the door to many more questions.  Despite the fact that I know many of the answers, this book hits a climax like a champ.  The dialogue drives this book, as every word is a clue into Stryfe's motivations.  The art drives this book, as Cable has never looked cooler than with ripped skin.  This arc, while being difficult to follow if you didn't have a cursory knowledge of past events, was very well done.  Each issue was paced well and never stagnated the storyline.  This issue was a thrilling conclusion to a very engaging plot.  Well done, team.  Well done.

      Sometimes the finale of a major crossover can be a giant letdown; sometimes the payoff is not worth the investment.  Neither of these is true of X-Force 18: this is a marvelous conclusion, bringing us fully (and finally) to the heart of what Stryfe and the X-Cutioner's Song have been about from the beginning - family (one could make the case for "love" as well).  In one sense, there was no "need" to bring in Apocalypse to the story at all.  Stryfe could have certainly shot Xavier with a regular ...
