Back in January IDW announced the return of THE X-FILES in a new ongoing series. Today at Emerald City Comicon, it was announced that show creator, Chris Carter would be returning in an active role to executive produce the series. It was also announced who the creative team would be on the title.

THE X-FILES: SEASON 10 will be written by Joe Harris with art and colors by the COMEBACK team of artist Michael Walsh and colorist Jordie Bellaire. The first issue will feature covers by Dave Johnson, Joe Corroney and Carlos Valenzuela. There will also be a 'classic photo image' cover.

In the first arc, "Believers," we'll catch up with Dana Scully and Fox Mulder living normal lives under secret identities. Their quiet life is turned upside down when they're visited by an old friend. Someone is preying upon everyone involved in THE X-FILES.

THE X-FILES: SEASON 10 is on sale June 19, 2013. It will contain 32 pages with a cover price of $3.99.

Awesome! I just hope they put Carter's name on the cover. It always helped to reassure me when I saw Joss Whedon's name on the Buffy comics.

I like that this is an official season 10 with Chris Carter involved. I never got any X-Files comics before, but this may tempt me.

@longbowhunter: He's a great artist AND a great guy. He's always in the weekly Awesome Art Picks. He also took part in the Mystery Art Challenge at ECCC. That'll go up this week.

Though I am excited for the idea of X-files. I am reserving judgement till I read it.

So long as it's just Mulder and Scully. I never want to see Doggett and Reyes again unless it's them being killed!
