X-Factor, since its release in 2006, has constantly been my favorite X-Title. The art is great and both the stories and the characters are well written.

What are your opinions?

#2 Posted by Xeron (293 posts) - - Show Bio

That's because it's the only good x-book that comes once a month.

Astonishing X-men is constantly pushed back.

Xeron says:

"That's because it's the only good x-book that comes once a month. Astonishing X-men is constantly pushed back."

Other X-Books are good: Legacy, X-Force and Uncanny are good. New X-Men was great.

Peter David is amazing!

Depending on one's tastes, it is a toss up between X-Factor and Astonishing. They are both very well written books, but in two very different styles. PAD's gritty character studys and wierdness and Whedon's Bronze Age Super Hero Old School.

PAD has done an amazing job, even better than his first run at X-Factor back in the 1990's, and created something truly unique in the X-verse. His stories are nicely twisted and delightfully 5 to 45 degrees off kilter. His dialog is a joy to read, and he knows to develop a plot over time. His pacing a great. His character devlopment is fantastic. He is the only writer to develop Jamie, and develop him into a very interesting leading man, despite Jamie first appearing in 1975. After Rictor was depowered, PAD made him into a hero! An interesting hero! He also "gets" Rhane and Terry, which few do. I don't know anyone who could have done with Lyla what he did And his recent redemption of Pietro was masterful and such fun to read!

(Uncanny is the worst title of X-Verse right now.)

Firstly, Astonishing X-Men is no longer that great, and Uncanny X-Men and Young X-Men are poor.

X-Force, X-Factor and X-Men: Legacy are the only decent ones left, each of them being great.

Legacy is garbage

Uncanny has slipped

I've yet to read X-force

Astonishing is pretty one note

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd X-factor is the shizzzzzz

Lol. Indeed X-Factor is the shizzzzzz

But, how is Legacy bad, I would have said that it's one of the better X-Books?
#9 Posted by pixelized (62882 posts) - - Show Bio

Granted i've only read 2 issues of legacy, but they bored me ]=

I'm a Carey fan so I liked it and I would say that it's better than having a leather clad woman with a whip, lashing a former Hellion :P.

....i can't believe i said "bored me"

anyway, i agree....Plus there was a major lack of Emma Frost so that's why i had to put it down.

Well Charles's polished dome was enough to hook me on the book, as well as the good story.

I agree, but Stroman's art is really killing it for me.

He's off with issue 37: the person who did the Layla one-shot is taking over.

De Landro? Good news.
He did a couple of issues already, he's quite good and more importantly his style fits the theme.

Yep that's the chap.

I think he also did the Only Game in town arc: to me it's very similar to Raimondi's art.

The art is good again! I'm so happy. Because the art of the last few X-Factor's were so bad I almost threw up. I'm not exaggerating I almost did just reading those issues. I stopped buyign them until a new artist took over.

The art got good again and I think it brought the story back too. Last issue was the first I liked since before Messiah CompleX I think.

I completely agree with what everyone is saying about the art. X-Factor is by far my favorite X book but the up til recently it was almost painful to read.

Hells yeah.

The two one-shots were really good.

I like the plot too.

The one-shots were excellent. Better than the ongoing at the time they came out, I thought.

in small doses, but when your Code Name is "Multiple Man," those small doses are non existent.

I'll pick it back up after something groundbreaking happens. It's shelved for now

No Astonishing or Legacy?!!!

#33 Posted by pixelized (62882 posts) - - Show Bio

darn yeah, add them to the list.

Astonishing is so infrequent with it's publishing that i forget it even exist. And Legacy has been Wolverine/Xavier centered so it's forgettable as well.

Original Sin was mediocre.

Astonishing Ghost Box was lame.

The only X-tiles i'm getting are:

Uncanny.
X-Force.
X-Factor.
Legacy.

(Possibly X-Infernus).
#35 Posted by pixelized (62882 posts) - - Show Bio

you don't get young x-men?

and Infernus is a must have...Mercury is in it

Nope. I occasionally read it in store, or glance at internet spoilers.

Yeah, I'll probably get Infernus.
