X-Factor: The "different" X-Book
Peter David has managed to take some X-Characters that were mediocre at best under different writers, and is writing one of the best X-books out there... and one that is actually different then the main titles. I'm not saying I didn't like these characters before... but can you remember ever enjoying a story about Multiple Man that was this good? Don't bother trying because you won't be able to.
The whole team is finally back together here. I know a lot of people don't like the character of Layla Miller... but I don't care. Not only do I like the character, but I actually think she's funny most of the time. The rest of the characters are all well cast, and get on each other's nerves... just like a real family usually does. It's done it such a way that the reader at no time would think these people hate each other... they actually do care, it's just they pretty much find everyone annoying... and it's great.
The plot again is fantastic. X-Factor has been picking up on loose plot threads that were ignored by the main titles since it's launch. This issue is no different. We get to meet more of the members of the X-Cell, although most readers might not recognize all the characters, most should know at least one or two of them. It's always been annoying when something happens to a character, and then they're just gone... never to be seen again while there's still some unresolved issues. Thank god for X-Factor. Although the last character to be revealed on the last page wasn't exactly a fan favorite with some readers... actually some readers down right loath this character, I actually always liked this particular X-Character, and I'm looking forward to see where this X-Cell is headed for.
All in all another great X-Factor issue by Peter David.
