    Does X Mark the Spot?

So yeah, I know this comic is like 20 something years old, but I just got my hands on a bunch of old comics and had to share my thoughts. Yes it's hard to believe, but I'm a DC guy, I don't normally read Marvel Comic at all. But since I got a good chunk of the X-Factor series for free, I might as well take a look see.  Besides, If I never dabble in Marvel why would any Marvel person every get into DC...Well so I'm going to go through X-Factor slowly but surely starting with issue #13, since its the first one I have.  So I had to read through it twice, since the first time I got a little lost...but on my second reading I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Simonson duo with Louise as writer and Walter as penciler do a great job at conveying the story. Yes there is a whole lot of story, too much dialogue if  you ask me but otherwise you get a great feel for whats going on. Problem is, this issue doesn't really stand on it's own, its hard for me to pick up the series at this point and jump in. Maybe its because I don't know a whole lot of background of the Marvel universe, but I didn't fully understand the Phoenix backstory, along with whoever this Master Mold guy is. I'm hoping as I read further along, I'll figure more of it out, but until then I'm wondering who all these characters are. So overall its a good issue, and I liked it, but it wasn't perfect for me... but I think that's my own fault (for not reading more Marvel). Now I know it would be pretty difficult to find this issue, but my review  isnt so much to get you to go buy this, as it is to review the series as a whole. So Marvel, don't let me down! Also warn me if this series is no good...that way I can review some of the many other comics I recieved.
