I doubt we'll see much of Meggan or Kimura for a while.  Marjorie Liu seems to stick to her NYX roots, not the X-Men related themes set up by Kyle & Yost.  Real shame.  I just get the feeling I'm not going to like this series.

That would be nice... but I was really disappointed with the recent one-shot.  Realistically, I know that other writers will have to write X.  But deep down, I just want her to be Kyle & Yost's baby... and only theirs.  They know her better than anyone else.  I'll still try the series, but I guess if I go in with low expectations then I can only be pleasantly surprised.

You're onto something here. With Spidey being one of Logan's closest friends (After all, he invited Pete to his birthday) it'd only be fitting to being properly introduced to Logan's daughter. While they already had a rocky start, don't forget the same can be said of Wolvie and Spider's partnership.  Besdies, you can't go to NY filling in Wolverine's shoes without team-ing up with our Friendly Neighborhood Hero.

What I've been wondering is that Liu exactly meant when she said Laura will be filling in Logan's shoes. I mean, she had to be cryptic for the sake of her book. But what would such a thing imply ? 
 
Team-ups ? 
Partnerships ? 
Enemies ? 
All of the above ?

Spidey and Cie ? Who is Cie ?

I thought    about all the great characters she has met like Daredevil, Captain America, Wolverine (of course and for many reasons !!!!)... In fact, these superheroes who are followed by readers and who sell. 
After, I hope there will be some heroes and mutants (like Daken and ex-new x-men). Yes, I like dreaming !

 
For me, this on-going will be awesome, no matter how it will be.

I want a X-23/Daken rematch soooo bad! But Spidy would be fun too. And getting away from the X-Men would be good. I mean, there it feels like she's always "Wolverine's clone" when she's not with the New X-Men. How would other characters see her? As his clone or daughter? I mean, he's introduced her as his sister, but that can't work and I haven't heard it be used since. She's clearly written as his daughter no matter who writes her. I think how other people in the MU think of her-clone or daughter-will have alot to do with it. And I love how Spidy and Logan interact, and how Spidy and Laura interacted when they did team-up, so...now I wnat her to team up with Spidy!

While it wouldn't be a pretty sight, Laura having a talk with a moody Spidey could set up for interesting convos/interaction. 
Seeing somone who at their highest (regular Spidey) and at their lowest ("emo Spidey" as you put it), could make Laura see how people deal with what's presented to them.
 And it'd give her second thoughts about saying "Everybody hates you" to Peter when he's down lol

I was really excited for this ongoing when it came out...but as time went on...i've become more and more skeptical. Im all for Laura having her own adventures, but i think she should be part of the X-Men. Hell if Wolverine can be in 3 X-Teams 2 Avenger teams a solo and a dozen cameos then Laura can too. She's his clone for crying out loud!
 
But i digress. I am interested to see how Liu address the Helix issue. Im not expecting much to be honest, but i hope she doesn't throw all of what happened in NXM out the window. I would loose a lot of respect for her as an author if she did. Also the NYX kids, save for Kiden, were bland IMO. I much prefer Mercury and Dust as Laura's BFFs. 
 
In the end i will defiantly check this out, i think it comes out on the 22nd of Sep (which is the day after my 21st B-Day!) even if i'm hung over

I would like to see her avoid all the usual rogues in her gallery and travel to Japan a la Logan to try and gain her humanity and connect with Logan that way. But then when you think it's just repeating the same storyline as Logan it goes all wrong and she ends up in a totally different part of the world learning martial art skills or some other discipline

That was a stupid move, her healing factor protects her only so much. Logan should have tried as he's got the adamantium skeleton to protect him

The art for that first picture preview was a bit disappointing. I hope they take her more seriously.  Her best book was Target X and Lost Innocence. "

I think Daken will come into the picture, because he's Liu's baby too. And he's related (after a fashion) to X-23, so it makes sense for them to meet on her travels.
