    Pirates they are not.

    Issue #7 of X-23

    The Story:

Gambit does a favor for an old friend who has problems with pirates.

    The Good:

YAY Takeda is doing the art again and I love it,it seems I have a thing for very painted art. Also we have a pretty good lesson at the end of even tough you try and save someone you might fail and we also see that Laurafet pity for those pirates since they smelled like so much fear she could taste it and killing them would be unfair.Action is pretty minimal but it's okay from time to time.

    The Bad:

I have to question why is this still in the "Songs of the Orphan Child" since we aren't dealing with them here and this is just a done in one issue. Also on the cover we have Remy and Laura in pirate gear but they aren't in the issue and I feel like ive been lied to since I am a big pirate fan.

The Verdict: This is a nice one-shot issue that really doesn't need the title of the previous arc on it and with great art you will have an enjoyable read but don't expect grand piratey from what the cover shows us.This is a buy.

How does Gambit get his hair to stick up like that? But besides that, Marjorie Liu takes the time to go back to making Laura more human in this issue. While this issue can be considered to be a filler before the Draken crossover, it has some good character development.  Sana Takeda really should do the artwork more often for ...

Cover:   Not a big fan of the cover.  I take it that it's supposed to be a "pirate" version of Gambit and X-23, but it's just not doing it for me.  What I do like is how the X-23 is colored yellow.  I've always been a fan of when they change the color of the titles throughout the series, makes the issues look really colorful.  The Good:    As other reviewers have mentioned, as well as friends of mine, the art was extremely well used here.  For me, it took a little getting used to but it's a de...
