    On the road again.

    Issue 4 of X-23.

The Story: Laura is on the road too search for herself and hitchhikes to a diner and meets a young girl and her pimp. After finding them a few miles away and the girl dead Laura kills her pimp and Gambit comes and searche's the body to find a picture of Laura. They are heading to a town called Flagstaff but get chased by the policew and the young girl and meet Miss Sinister.

    The Good:

Marjorie Liu is great at dialogue between characters, the way that Laura speaks in a very straight-forward manner and everybody else is obviously not wanting to answer especially the girl. Will Conrad's art is great escially Miss Sinister is revealed at the end is really spectacular and she looks splendid.

    The Bad:

I realized what a huge problem this series has,it's that Marjorie takes a bit to much time on talking and not enough of moving the storie forward. The first arc could have easily been 2 issue and this issue 3.Also the part with Gambit and his tarot cards was kinda pointless but it did serve as what might happen later on.

The Verdict: This issue was good but Marjorie should definitely pick up the pace quickly but the art is good and the plot is going to an interesting place. This is a buy.

While technically being just a clone, Marjoire Liu shows there is so much more to her than that.  The Good On the very first page showing Laura (X-23) walking down a road alone, you really feel how troubled and alone she is. Marjorie Liu has an amazing grasp on writing X-23. People often quickly dismiss her as just a Wolverine clone but there's so much more going on in Laura's mind. Each time I read an issue, I really start to feel for her and wonder what will...

Laura hits the open road and runs into danger and everybody's favorite Cajun  The Good  Will Conrad and Marco Checchetto continue to provide excellent interior artwork. There's a soft texture and inexplicable prettiness to it that's made fully alive by Rauch's colors.  Liu's writing, while not as long as issues past, still has it's highlights here. She really has a handle on Laura's social awkwardness that's really endearing. She really reads like someone who's knowledge of the world and others ...
