Training Weapons
Chapter two takes place when X-23 is seven years old and we get to see how the Facility trained and prepared her to be the ultimate weapon. X-23 under goes intense metal and physical training, which is made that much more horrible when you consider the fact that she’s only seven when all of this is going on. We are also giving a good look into Zanders personality and his deep hatred of Weapon X, which plays out in his treatment of X-23. This is also where we get the introduction of the Pinocchio theme, which remains a major recurring theme in X-23’s stories to this day. All and all, this was another great build up chapter for things to come. A lot happened in this issue, but like chapter one there was very little action but a lot of story. But the last two pages do give us a real good glimpse of what’s in store for X-23.
