The many worlds of Aspen
The Worlds of Aspen have become the Aspen tradition for Free Comic Book Day. While some companies use it to push on major story arc like DC with Green Lantern or Superman, Aspen decides to give a sampler. This comic is a weird one in which Aspen Matthews does not steal the cover, but Lady Mechanika does and L.M. is not a character created by the late Michael Turner, who made Aspen what it is today.
The good about this comic is that is samples quite a lot and its free. However the bad I think out weight the good, the bad is that the stories at average are too short to make you care if you didn't have interest before hand. There is also a lack of Aspen Matthews which feels like a travesty. Another problem with these samplers is that it tends to take away from the set limits most stores have for free comics and in retrospective this could of been a complete story if you grabbed a different comic instead.
As cool as The Worlds of Aspen is, they seem to lack creativity on what goes in and a certain heart is missing. This is a nice primer and nothing more. This should be a normal free comic and not "thee" free comic for each year.
Cheers
