Better than the last few issues
I haven't been the biggest fan with the amount of Apokolips stories the comic has had. Even though the latest issue features Huntress and Power Girl fighting off more attacks from Desaad's warriors and Parademons the focus finally shifts back to the core relationship between the heroines trapped in a parallel Earth (and less of Desaad's monster making). The strength of this comic is and always will be the relationship between the pair, and where the comic has gotten into trouble at times is when it has lost sight of that. Robson Rocha continues to help stabilize the comic's look with having a single style instead of the multiple artists we got for so long. Rocha does a good job (even if he is a little too eager to give us boob shots of Power Girl even out of costume and some of the inking, particularily around the eyes of characters in certain panels doesn't look quite finished). With the way the issue ends it appears we're going to get more Apokolips action for the time being (but hopefully not at the sacrifice of the core relationship of the book, which when done right reminds me of Gail Simone's original Birds of Prey series)
One final note, I'd actually rate this a 3.5 instead of a 3. You can find more of my reviews (with images) on RazorFine Reviews
