    Power Girl And Huntress Returns.

Synopsis: Stuck on Earth Prime, Karen and Helena make something of their lives.

Out of the second new wave of 52 books, World's Finest was on my top of the list. One reason was the official debut of Power Girl (despite being a part of the New 52 already in Mister Terrific), the official debut of Huntress (despite being a part of the New 52 with her miniseries).

With the first issue, Paul Levitz provides readers a bit of characterization with the two ladies, and also some background on how the duo ended up on Earth Prime. Granted, it's not entirely necessary to read both Huntress or Earth 2 before this series, but it helps a bit. In some ways, I'm glad that Huntress is Helena Wayne instead of Helena Bertinelli due to the fact that she's the daughter of Bruce Wayne with some of her father's traits. With Karen, she still has traits of her personality from post 52, but focused more on her civilian career, along with figuring out a way to get back home. The two act more like siblings more than anything else with the two bouncing back statements at one another.

The problem I have with this issue is learning more about the background of these two characters back on Earth 2 before they ended up on Earth Prime. Levitz does a decent job of providing the exploits of the two during their five year run on Earth Prime, but it's their history of Earth 2 I'm more interested in. I'm sure Levitz will explain in due time, but I just want to point that out.

When it comes to the art, I'm a fan of George Perez's work. He puts a lot of work in the details with environment and backgrounds. Character models look great, and I like how there's a difference of how Karen and Helena look when they first appeared as Super girl and Robin, to over the five years expansion. One of the issues I have when it comes the Power Girl being drawn in most comics is how muscular she should appear. in some panels Perez has that problem, but thanks to her new costume, she has that slender buildup.

    Overall:

So far, I don't have an idea on where Levitz wants to take this series, but this series has potential.

Note: I still dislike Power Girl's new costume.

I doubted this title when I first knew of it’s existence since as much as I wanted to see power girl in the new dcu, it was still a spin-off to another book. But surprisingly the awesome earth 2 made me pick up this one as we get to see this duo from an alternate world live in the main DC earth. The issue starts in with both Helena and Karen having a nice diner together as they talk about their lives till Karen gets a phone call informing her about the labs she just bought are on fire so they rus...

THE GOOD: There are two artist in this book, but it works extremely well. George Perez's pencils add a lot of details to the backgrounds and gives the characters a special look. Kevin Maguire's style is a little more simple but still stunning. The story is actually where I start to absolutely love this issue. We get to see these two characters interact and I think that writer is adding a lot of chemistry between the two characters. I really like how they are obviously different, but they both ha...
