Giovanni "John" Zatara was an Italian illusionist with powerful magic cast by uttering the effect backwards, first appearing in Action Comics #1. He is also the father of renowned magician and Justice League member Zatanna. He was killed during a botched séance involving John Constantine.
The Witch was the archenemy of King Standish and a fellow master of disguise. She led various gangs in committing criminal activities but stopped short of murder. The King faced her in most of his published adventures but always let her escape. The two were strongly attracted to each other.

When Johnny Thunder speaks the words Cei - U (pronounced Say You) he has total control over a genie - like Thunderbolt for one hour. (The Thunderbolt has more brains than Johnny).

Lois Lane is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist for the Daily Planet of Metropolis. She was the first reporter to interview Superman after he first appeared in Metropolis. Superman later revealed his secret identity to her; the two married and have a son, Jon Kent.
Sent to Earth as an infant from the dying planet Krypton, Kal-El was adopted by the loving Kent family and raised in America's heartland as Clark Kent. Using his immense solar-fueled powers, he became Superman to defend mankind against all manner of threats while championing truth, justice, and the American way!
Bruce Wayne, who witnessed the murder of his billionaire parents as a child, swore to avenge their deaths. He trained extensively to achieve mental and physical perfection, mastering martial arts, detective skills, and criminal psychology. Costumed as a bat to prey on the fears of criminals, and utilizing a high-tech arsenal, he became the legendary Batman.
