Lord Thor is about the only Superhero who can defeat the new Hulk. Hence they didn't let him fight Hulk. Sentry was also defeated by World War Hulk.

hulk is not a friendly foe to thor,he is respected as a foe but treated as a brute.Thor was one of the first in favor of kicking hulk off the first avengers team.

Kicking him off the team because he was too hard for them to control. Well look what happened to the classic Avengers now anyway. Hulk had child like intelligence then but now he is much more intellectually gifted than Thor so I doubt Thor would treat him as a brute.
