The Hulk returns to earth after the Planet Hulk storyline. He's not happy.
Background
Trapped on the violent planet Sakaar by the Illuminati, Hulk has finally found peace. After the events of the Planet Hulk storyline Hulk has defeated the Red King, become a king and a savior to a world full of aliens, liberated the spikes, and found a wife and family in Caiera and their unborn child. For the first time in his life Hulk is happy.
Everything Hulk has worked so hard to build comes crashing down around him when the ship that brought him to Sakaar is investigated. The Sakaar people did not care about Hulk's origin, or that he was there because the Illuminati of earth saw fit to banish Hulk, they cared only about Hulk's actions since coming to Sakaar. The Sakaar people made the ship into a shrine celebrating Hulk's arrival and their subsequent liberation . When Hulk and Caiera are brought to view this Shrine, the ship begins to emit overload warnings. Angered once again at those who sent him there, Hulk grabs the ship and hurls it into the sky. Hulk's actions did not matter as the ship exploded before leaving the planet's atmosphere, destroying virtually all life on the planet including Caiera. Hulk is left alone and hurt, king of a now broken and desolate planet that threatens to take Hulk as well. Hulk's Warbound are all that survives the destruction of Sakaar, and with a robot that can navigate most of the known universe Hulk, Korg, Miek, No-name the Broodspawn, Elloe, and Hiroim forge weapons and plot a course to Earth to seek revenge on those that destroyed their paradise.
On the way back to Earth the true nature of Hulk's rage begins to frighten his allies. When a group of alien parasites sweeps over the ship intending to take it for themselves, Hulk loses control to his anger. Hulk tears through the invading aliens not even seeing them, but instead seeing only the faces of those that sent him away. Wanting to help their comrade, No-name and Korg exited the ship to assist Hulk. Still seeing the faces of the Illuminati in everyone around him Hulk nearly kills two of his closest allies. Concerned for the Hulk as well as their own safety, Hiroim teaches Hulk to meditate, helping him to control and direct his anger while still keeping in control of his rage. Hulk works with Hiroim to develop a plan of action. Using Hulk's knowledge of his enemies strengths and weaknesses, Hiroim is able to come up with a plan of attack, starting with taking out their most powerful enemy, Black Bolt the king of the Inhumans. Meanwhile, back on Earth She-Hulk has been depowered. After she learned about what the Illuminati did by sending her cousin into space, she punched out Iron Man, the director of SHIELD. Also, feeling that he owes Hulk a debt for saving his life, Amadeus Cho is working to assemble a group of Hulk's most powerful allies to support Hulk upon his return.
Dawn of War
Hulk arrives first on the Earth's Moon, facing off against Black Bolt and Medusa of the Inhumans. Hulk is warned that a single whisper on the lips of Black Bolt can destroy Hulk. Attacking the King, Hulk is hurled backward by the power of Black Bolt's whisper. Enraged, the Hulk attacks again telling Black Bolt that Hulk didn't come for a whisper and wants to hear him scream. He projects an image of himself in New York City, and talks about the bad that Dr. Strange, Iron Man, Black Bolt, and Mr. Fantastic have done to him. He urges that Manhattan be evacuated, or, as he holds up a mauled Black Bolt, "I will do THIS to your whole puny planet." Shortly afterwards, New York's heroes are seen evacuating Manhattan, to the public's disapproval. Iron Man offered complete freedom to any unregistered hero who would register, and also fight on the side of Earth, against Hulk.
World War
Iron Man dons his "Hulkbuster" Suit, in hopes of defeating Hulk. As the fight rages on, Iron Man, in a monologue, takes full responsibility for the incident, and explains that he knew that this day would come, as soon as he heard news that Hulk had not reached his destination. As they are battling, Iron Man injects nanobots into Hulk's bloodstream. This was supposed to slow him down, but hasn't seemed to take effect yet. After much fighting in the now empty Manhattan, Iron Man seems to have defeated Hulk. But, after a flashback of the death of his wife, Caiera, he only becomes angrier. He bursts from the crater his body had created, and dominates Iron Man.
Next, he sets his eyes on Reed Richards. All of the Fantastic Four comes to his aid including its temporary members Black Panther and Storm. After the ensuing battle in which the Fantastic Four is defeated Reed escapes to find Sentry, one of Hulks best friends. Sentry recalled his last visit with the Hulk when he was battling the Void and decides not to go. With this news Reed tries to create the illusion that Sentry is appearing in an effort to quell the Hulks rage. This does not work.
After defeating the Fantastic Four the Hulk sets out to kill Doctor Strange. Strange unleashes the power of the Sorceror Supreme only to be defeated by the Hulk. Strange then fuses with the demon Zom replacing his shattered hands with battle axes. Somehow the Hulk still managed to defeat Dr. Strange.
Hulk and the Warbound then decide to build a coliseum. In it Hulk has the super hero Mister Fantastic fight Tony without his armor using control units from Sakaar. Eventually Reed defeats Tony and ordered to kill him but before anything can happens Hulk stops the telling them he came for "justice not murder". Hulk also tells them of his plan to destroy New York with no one in it and to leave the Illuminati in defeat. Then before this destruction the Sentry finally makes a appearance. They battle for a very long time and in the end the two lead to a stalemate, with both reverting to human forms as Banner weakly throws the last punch leaving Reynolds to collapse before him. Miek one of Hulks friends admits to betrayal to the Hulk; as Miek and the Red King was responsible for the destruction. Miek then strikes at banner but accidentally stabs Rick Jones, which cause Banner to revert to the Hulk, as Hulk and No-Name kill Miek in retaliation. As the Hulk gets mad and mad over Miek's betrayal, Hulk's rage causes him to loose control and the Hulks energy becomes a threat to the Earth. In defense Iron Man then activates a series of satellite anti-gamma lasers which fire and finally ends the Hulk's prolonged rampage. Leading to the arrest of Bruce Banner. Now (Banner) locked up three miles inside the Earths crust inside a Shield prison lies in a coma-like state. As then Skaar, son of Hulk, rises from the destruction of Sakaar. What happens now awaits to be seen.

PLANET WITHOUT A HULK: Part 1 of 4
Now that the ILLUMINATI have shot the HULK into space... Who's going to fight all of his bad guys? Enter SHE-HULK: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.! Spinning out of events from CIVIL WAR and PLANET HULK, the new director of S.H.I.E.L.D. is shipping She-Hulk off to Hulk-related hotspots around the globe-- where she'll be taking on villains from A-Z! Or, in this case, from the Abomination to Zzzax! That's right, gamma-fans, it's the Emerald Amazon in her most ACTION-PACKED ADVENTURE EVER! AND IT ALL
Overview
PLANET WITOUT A HULK: Part 2 of 4
"When the Hulk's away... SHE-HULK SMASH!" It's more two-fisted action as SHE-HULK, AGENT OF S.H.I.E.L.D., faces off against
Hulk-rogues around the globe! And this time she's brought some company: the one and only WOLVERINE! That's right, true believers! It's Green Genes and the Ol'Canucklehead in a tag-team like no other! So get ready for a smashin', slashin' slugfest that'll leave you cryin' for your mama, cryin' for more, and cryin' WEN-DI-GO!!!
She-Hulk and the Hulkbuster division of S.H.I.E.L.D. continue their search for the missing Hulk and fighting any of his enemies that they come across. They have recently captured the U-Foes and ZZZax. The captured villains are being kept and studied by Dr. Gaffer for Project: Achilles.
Director Tony Stark is ready for a debrief as Agent Quartermain prepare to meet with him. Stark would rather debrief She-Hulk instead as a candle-lit table is seen in the other room. (It seems the place has been rebuilt after the Punisher blew the place up). The villains laugh at her and Two-Gun comes to her "rescue." Mallory knows she needs to do something really big to win back their respect.
Below, at Project: Achiles, it appears that ZZZax has escaped from his zzzax box and has entered the helicarrier's computers.
At Timely Plaza, Mallory Book is upset that her affair with Awesome Andy is all over the paper. She wants to sue them because she has lost face and her clients do not respect her. She plans on trying to win over her clients I(even though they are supervillains).
In Stark's quarters, he and She-Hulk lie in bed. She asks how he can sleep around and people just call him a player but if she does it, she's called a skank. Just then, there is a security breech and the helicarrier's lasers begin shooting all over the room. She-Hulk blocks the blasts from hitting Stark as he tries to get dressed and calls forth his armor.
The helicarrier's defense attacks are all over. Even Agent Cheesecake, being an LMD, cannot help but attack her fellow agents. As Iron Man deals with attacking hovercars, Nick Fury grabs She-Hulk's arm to take her with him. It turns out to be an LMD as She-Hulk finds herself in a room full of them.
Back in New York City, Mallory Books goes the the No Name Bar to talk to her former villain clients along with Two-Gun.
On the helicarrier, after the villains being studied in Project: Achilles were released, it appears that the project is a success. Dr. Gaffer and his scientists have managed to subdue them.
As Iron Man tries to take control of the helicarrier so it doesn't crash, She-Hulk figures out how to capture Zzzax. She knows that Zzzax will go towards Iron Man and is able to re-capture him in a fixed zzzax box.
As everyone tries to regain their bearings, a head from a Nick Fury LMD begins reciting recent data files. She is shocked to hear a recording addressing "Bruce" mentioning a launch.

This issue takes place right before Incredible Hulk #106
She-Hulk # 18 concludes the "Planet Without a Hulk" storyline and with it, Jen Walters finally confronts Iron Man for his involvement in her cousin's disappearance!
As an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D and a registered super-hero, Jen Walters serves under Tony Stark, but his actions against the Hulk have made her mad. And like any other green blooded Hulk family member (okay, the only other green blooded Hulk family member) you do not want to see her angry. She can be hard to handle when she's green.
Writer Dan Slott, artist Rick Burchett, and cover artist Greg Horn bring you the undercard match of the year. Jen "the Savage She-Hulk" Walters vs. Tony "the Invincible Iron Man" Stark! And hey, if She-Hulk can't take Iron Man down, her cousin is up next!
Unfortunately for Iron Man and the rest of the Illuminati, the Hulk isn't as far away as they would like. As a matter of fact…he's very close to home. Pick up She-Hulk # 18, as the Marvel Universe moves one step closer to the Hulk's return. Retailers are advised to check their orders on this issue as it directly ties in to the upcoming World War Hulk event.
On the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier, the Hulkbusters get word that a large gamma signature has been detected in New Mexico, the Hulk's old stomping grounds. The team has all assembled except for She-Hulk, who is not responding to the page. Clay Quartermain contacts Jen in her hover-car but she cuts off the transmission. She's tired of chasing after false leads. She has the head of the Nick Fury L.M.D. next to her. It's still busted and talking in a loop. She wishes she could think of a way to access its memory. She thinks about all of her friends that she could go to like Reed Richards, Hank Pym, etc. but she's not sure who she can trust now. Normally she'd go straight to Tony Stark but not now that he's in charge of S.H.I.E.L.D. She finally decides to go her lawfirm of Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg, and Holliway. It's there that Mr. Zix says he can access its data.
She-Hulk sees a video of "Nick Fury" meeting with Bruce Banner. She finds out that the L.M.D. sent Hulk out on a space mission to "smash" something. They are unable to find out what happens next because the information is in a nested file. At the same time in a coffee shop across town, someone is using a laptop and mentions that "they've found the encrypted file..." On the laptop the screen says, "Operation: Greener Pastures, S.H.I.E.L.D. File 93.56.7."
In New Mexico, the Hulkbusters arrive at one of the Hulk's old hideouts. They make their way inside and find the Leader inside. He is upset at being discovered. He mentions faking his death twice to carry out his secret master plan. He says he was just three days from releasing death spores. He gets in a giant robot and they prepare to fight.
Zix tells Jen that he can't access any more files. Suddenly, a new file comes up. Back in the coffee shop, Mastermind Excello is seen with his coyote pup. He accessed the file for them. Jen sees another video with Tony Stark, Reed Richards, Black Bolt, and Dr. Strange talking to Hulk on a video monitor. They tell him that they decided to send him off planet when they found out about "Nick Fury's" mission. They say he has threaten the planet too many times with his anger-induced destruction. Seeing this, Jen is no longer a happy camper.
The Hulkbusters suffer some injuries but they manage to take down the Leader. As they head back to the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier, Clay's transmission is garbled. Those onboard the helicarrier think they are bringing in the Hulk and begin to celebrate. She-Hulk is also on her way to the helicarrier. Tony Stark is brought on deck and sees a huge banner saying "Mission Accomplished." He starts to talk to the agents that there's been a mistake (since he knows Hulk is not on planet). Jen arrives with a rough landing. She immediately confronts Iron Man. When he asks her what her problem is, she says her problem isn't on Earth and that he's known that from day one. Before she can say anything else, he hits her with a full-powered blast from his repulsors. He orders some agents to lock her in the brig and that she is NOT to talk to anyone. As he turns his back, She-Hulk has already regained consciousness. Stark orders her not to say another word. She easily dodges his attacks. She starts knocking him around and shrugging off his attacks. She calls him a "tin-plated tyrant" and says he's been acting more like Dr. Doom. She tells him he's an idiot. Sending Bruce into space isn't going to solve anything. Iron Man says he knows that he'll probably come back. He tells her that they've been preparing for his return. A little needle pops out of his finger and he pokes Jen in the neck. He tells her it's an Adamantium needle with nanites from Project: Achilles.
When Jen wakes up, she immediately tries punching Iron Man only to feel pain in her fist. She has reverted back to her human form. Iron Man is showing her the results of Project: Achilles. She sees the Abomination, Ironclad, and Vector, all in human form. Stark tells her that they've perfected a way to stop Hulk-level threats, permanently. She-Hulk is no more. Jen tells him that he's mistaken if he thinks the threat from her has been neutralized. She-Hulk may be gone but she is still Jennifer Walters, one of the best lawyers on the East Coast. She says she is going to destroy him.

Overview
When the Hulk returns to Earth for the senses-shattering events of "World War Hulk," we can all guess which puny humans will fight against him. But which of Earth's heroes will fight for the Hulk? Don't miss the shocking revelations as Amadeus Cho, the boy genius who took on Reed Richards on behalf of the Hulk in Incredible Hulk #100, confronts She-Hulk and Doc Samson -- and precipitates a gamma-powered smash-fest in the wilds of Jersey! Featuring the return of Hulk artist extraordinaire Gary Frank!
Spoilers
Jennifer Walters finds herself stranded in Jersey. As She-Hulk, she had been working for the government to fight Hulk's enemies during his absence. She has also been working for S.H.I.E.L.D. When she discovered that a group of superheroes tricked and sent Hulk off planet without a jury or trial, she punched Iron Man. It turns out he was prepared for that. She had been injected with nanobots that depowered her back into Jennifer Walters. Then they simply dropped her off. As she prepares her way back to civilization, a boy on a scooter drives up. It's Amadeus Cho, otherwise known as Mastermind Excello. She questions him about being so smart yet he stopped for a woman wearing a S.H.I.E.L.D. uniform. He says that she's a women who just hit Iron Man and quit the agency. He also has a change of clothes for her and a bottle of grape Nehi (her favorite drink).
In the Baxter Building, Reed is talking to Doc Samson. He's monitoring Amadeus. Samson isn't too impressed that he knew Jen's favorite drink because it was in an issue of Vanity Fair. Samson asks if he's so smart, how can he let Reed track him. Reed says perhaps it's because he's only the seventh smartest person on the planet. There's also the chance that he knows he's being tracked and wants Reed to know that he knows. It also seems that he wanted Reed to send Samson after him. Reed says that Samson won't be able to beat him intellectually and probably won't be able to touch him physically but his emotions can be played. He recently lost his family. Reed gave Samson his file and tells him to make use of it.
In a diner, Jen and Amadeus sit as he puts away the food. She says he has three minutes to explain why she shouldn't just call the police on him since he's a known fugitive. He accuses her of not wanting to help her cousin. She tells him about a day when the Champions were about to be honored by the President for saving the world. The Hulk was reported in a traffic jam. They went and attacked him. It turns out that she was in the car he was carrying with a ruptured appendix. He just wanted to take her to the hospital but they only saw a monster attacking. She says that Amadeus is like the Champions. All they saw was a monster. All he's seeing is a hero. She says he just saw him on a good day.
Frustrated, Amadeus gets up to leave. He knows that her "shrink" is there to get him. Walking outside, Samson makes a thunderclap that knocks both of them back. Amadeus is knocked out with blood pouring out his nose. Amadeus is barely conscious. He tries to open his jacket and asks Jennifer for help. It doesn't look good for the little coyote he was carrying.
Amadeus tries appealing to them. They're Hulk's friends and he needs them. They're working for the bad guys. He also comments that it was Samson's reports that allowed them to get Hulk onto the shuttle and gave Iron Man the idea to have her depowered.
Samson tells Amadeus that he's just angry because despite being so smart, he can't figure out who's killed his parents. He's just unleashing like the Huk would. Amadeus tells him his hour is up as Jennifer transforms into She-Hulk. She smacks Samson into a car and it explodes. He doesn't want to fight but will if he has to. He says he knows she's disappointed in him and she says she's not. She's mad. She gives him an uppercut that sends him flying away. She-Hulk turns to look for Amadeus but he's gone.
The payphone rings and it's him. She asks how he was able to get her to change. He came up with something and put it in her grape Nehi. It was a temporary fix. He says he can make it permanent if he knows that she's on their side. She says she just caused about a half million dollars worth of damage and sent on of her best friends into the next county. She can't go with him. She tells him to look at what happened to his coyote. Amadeus tells her he's fine. He was playing dead. He doesn't allow his friends to get hurt.
Jennifer also tells him there was one more thing that happened after the Champions found out what the Hulk was really doing. They were sorry. Amadeus reaches the top of a hill to find Hercules and Angel up there. She asks him if he knows what she's saying. He says he does, because he's a "smart kid." Reed is watching him on his screen and says "Not quite smart enough."

Overview
Hulk is coming and no power on Earth can stop him from getting revenge on the Illuminati! What events have led up to the super-human battle-to-end-all-battles? As Hulk’s great stone ship approaches the planet, he prepares for the war on the horizon by reliving past conflicts with Iron Man, The Fantastic Four, Doctor Strange and the Inhumans. This is the perfect jumping-on point for this summer’s super hero-smashing, city-leveling, bone-crushing, Marvel history-making event!
The Hulk and his warbound crew fly through space towards Earth. Hulk stands on the outside of the ship like a hood ornament. A species of space scavengers see the ship and decide they must have it. They figured taking the ship and killing everyone on board would be no problem. They were wrong. Hulk tears them apart. As he fights, beats, and slashes at them, he's seeing the Illuminati in his mind: Mr. Fantastic, Dr. Strange, Iron Man, and Black Bolt. One by one, he dispatches the "Illuminati" until the aliens are gone. Two of his warbound come out to join him, Brood and Korg. Hulk is so enraged, he still sees his enemy. He grabs Brood by the neck and is about to go for the kill when he realizes what is happening. Hulk is ashamed for the first time in his life.
On Earth, Jennifer Walters walks into her motel room to find Doc Samson waiting in there. She's not too happy to see him even if the last time she did, she punched him across the state. She cannot believe that he's working against Hulk and using their friendship to meet Reed Richards wishes.
On the ship, the warbound are concerned that Hulk almost killed Brood and Korg. They are not sure if he will be able to tell the difference between them and his enemies when the battle comes. Hiroim says he will deal with it and leaves them.
Hulk wants to be left alone but Hiroim persists. He says they must speak. He talks to him of his anger and trying to focus on his enemies, to use his anger as an asset. If he can control it, he can use it to destroy all his enemies. That's music to Hulk's ears.
Jennifer and Samson continue to talk. She is upset that Tony Stark and Reed have simply sent her cousin off planet without giving him a trial. She mentions, Casus Belli," which is Latin for "the incident that provides a reason for going to war." She says when Hulk gets back, it's going to be trouble. Samson says he's not coming back. He mentions that it was Hulk that first started the "war" when he attacked the Fantastic Four (when they were called in to investigate a saboteur).
On the ship, Hulk and Hiroim meditate and Hulk tells of the same encounter with the Fantastic Four. He mentions that Richards was a colleague of Banner's. Richards was so smug and just wanted to take Hulk down. He was the one to take down the saboteur but the Fantastic Four got the credit.
Next the talk on Earth goes to Iron Man and how Tony Stark tired to find him a cure and risked his life to deal with Hulk when the cure failed. Hulk mentions to Hiroim that Stark has always hated him from the beginning. He quickly believed that the Hulk was causing trouble when Loki tricked the Avengers and when Space Phantom pulled the same stunt.
Eventually they talk of Black Bolt. Hulk says that he is the only one that could stop him with his voice. Hiroim gets the idea that they need to take Black Bolt out first and wave him around to the others so they know that Hulk will not be stopped.
Jennifer finally tells Samson to leave. She says she will not help them when he returns and starts World War Hulk. Then she gets a sudden premonition and somehow knows that he actually is on his way.
A humorous tale of a secret meeting of the Illuminators (as Hawkeye calls them) in the kitchen of the Avengers. They discuss sending Hulk off planet. Namor is against the idea (and maybe Black Bolt is, either that or he wants to play rock-paper-scissors). Namor is finally able to convince them that it would be bad karma until the Hulk arrives and eats his sandwhich. Hulk is sent out and lands on Sakkaar. Eventually he is headed back to Earth.
Amadeus Cho is speaking with a women, Agent Sexton, who wants to bring him in. He says he doesn't trust her because she just blew up his house. She says it was the enemey. Because he is the seventh smartest person alive, they want him working for them. He says he can't trust her at this time. She says to take his time and stay out of site while she proves he can trust her.
Cho is in a diner when the waitress discovers he has a coyote pup (whose mother was just hit by a car) in his jacket. There was a news report about him on the television too and a man eating at the counter seems to be taking an interest in the exchange between Cho and a an officer.
The officer makes a grab for him and Cho makes his own move. He blasts his music player, spits a lemon seed at the officer through a straw, throws pepper in his face and topples a shelf of pies. He heads outside and hops on his scooter. The officer calls for backup saying he was the kid on the television. A copter begins to chase him so he angles his side mirror to blind them. A missle was released from the copter heading towards the man who was at the counter.
When the dust from the explosion clears, the Hulk is coming out of the crater created. Standing over Cho, the kid tries telling Hulk it wasn't his fault. Hulk says he knows. He picks up another missle that hadn't exploded and throws it back at the copter.
Later Amadeus and Hulk are off alone. Cho has to eat after "thinking that hard" and Hulk asks him what Banner said to him at the diner. Cho tells him he said, "Don't be stupid." Hulk says that Banner is weak, not like them. As Hulk leaves, Amadeus calls Agent Sexton. Behind her are screens showing outside the diner. She tells him it "wasn't them." He says he doesn't care but he's coming for them.

The Heroes for Hire are separated in the Savage Land and fighting for their lives! Will Humbug survive the attentions of the Land's prehistoric insects? Will Shang-Chi and Tarantula's relationship blossom? Will Paladin and Black Cat kill each other? And most importantly, will Colleen and Misty retrieve Moonboy so everyone can get PAID? All this and big daddy Devil Dinosaur!
Overview
The Heroes return to New York to find it the first battleground in WORLD WAR HULK. Will Humbug’s recently amplified powers be a factor against Hulk’s compatriots, Miek and Brood? Can the heroes salve the wounds of their adoptive city and still turn a profit? Both answers are “yes” if Misty Knight has
anything to say about it!
Backup Story: Killer Instincts
On their way back from their recent mission in the Savage Land, the Heroes for Hire are returning with ape in tow. Shang-Chi remarks that the boats in the New York harbors seem to be making haste to leave. Humbug describes insects from another world which are coming to Earth with the intent to destroy and to make our planet their own.
Landing at the SHIELD base to try to offload their cargo and collect their check they are instantly met with opposition. Low-level armed SHIELD guards tell them that they are to leave, and Derek and Scorpion confront their unwelcome guests. Derek informs them of the entire Hulk situation that they missed--Hulk coming back angry and demanding Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic, and Dr. Strange to be turned over to him within 24 hours. Humbug gives Derek a foreboding warning: "You need not fear the Monster. Fear the Warrior-Beetle and his Queen." Derek asks the team if they would assist with the rescue and evacuation operations as they need all the super-help they can get. The team gears up to leave with the exception of Paladin who refuses to take part in a non-paying mission (especially when such events will create many paying jobs for a mercenary).
As the team leaves, Humbug rushes away to discover a horde of the children of the alien insects. Overcome by the chemical shared memories of the group (known as chemming), Humbug is carried back to his companions by Shang-Chi. One of the bugs finds the heroes and smells them, realizing that they are humans--the enemy. Humbug grabs the fleeing insect and rips it apart before the rest of the group, spreading its innards over the other heroes. Humbug explains to his confused and angry teammates that now they smell like the insects, and will be able to walk among them.
Killer Instincts
Scorpion hides on the top of a building as heroes fly high above her and evacuation crews shout down to anyone left below. On the way to her mission destination, Scorpion takes out two low-life thugs that are taking advantage of the unrest by looting local buildings.
Back on track she enters what appears to be an empty warehouse, unaware that Paladin is following her searching for a quick buck. Within the Police's long term evidence storage facility Paladin blasts her with a nearby stun gun and surveys his surroundings. Metabolizing the blast almost instantly, Scorpion aims an even larger weapon back at Paladin and tells him that it is her turn.
Overview
Marvel's massive summer smashfest begins! Exiled by a group of Marvel "heroes" to the savage alien planet of Sakaar, the Hulk raged, bled and conquered through the pages of last year's "Planet Hulk" epic, rising from slave to gladiator to king. Now the Hulk returns to Earth to wreak his terrible vengeance on Iron Man, Reed Richards, Dr. Strange and Black Bolt -- and anyone else who gets in his way. Stronger than ever, accompanied by his monstrous Warbound gladiator allies, and possessed by the fiercest and purest rage imaginable, the Hulk may just tear this stupid planet in half. The epic story of anger unbound begins with this special double-sized issue written by "Planet Hulk" scribe Greg Pak and penciled by the legendary John Romita, Jr.
Hulk and his Warbound arrive. First stop is the moon. As Hulk lands, he is met by Black Bolt and Medusa. She questions why he has arrived unannounced. They see he is dressed for war. She says he has faced Black Bolt before and lost. All Hulk can say is, "You shot me into space...Killed my world..." Medusa tells him to stop and he says "Never." As he approaches, Black Bolt simply whispers, "Enough." The force of his words blasts Hulk. He fights to hang on but is eventually sent flying back. They turn to head back towards their palace. Hulk comes back saying he hasn't come there for a whisper. He wants to hear Black Bolt scream and jumps towards him.
On Earth, the arrival of the Hulk's ship has been detected. They've registered that there's been an explosion on the moon. Tony Stark tries telling the President to block all the satellites but it is too late. The ship can be seen over New York City. A giant holographic message appears before everyone and on all channels. Hulk tells the "puny humans" that he has come to smash. He wants them to know why first. He shows them the message from Iron Man, Reed Richards, Black Bolt, and Dr. Strange about sending him into space. He tells everyone how he was sent to a planet where he could be killed and was forced to become a gladiator. He tells them about his Warbound and how he became King and had a Queen. He shows them how a bomb was sent with him and destroyed his planet and killed a million people. He gives New York City 24 hours to evacuate. He says that after that time if he does not see Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic, and Dr. Strange, he will smash the entire planet and shows the beaten pulp of Black Bolt.
Iron Man takes off. He takes over the satellites mainframes and sets them up so that Hulk cannot tap into them again. As soon as Iron Man has locked into the satellites, they hit him with a modified EMP blast through them. Doctor Strange's astral form appears before Iron Man. He mentions that Hulk's never been angrier or stronger. Iron Man asks Strange to use his magic to send him away. Dr. Strange questions that action as it would most likely result in Hulk destroying another world. They caused the problem and must solve it. He asks Tony if he wants the help of his "comrades" if he can resist in trying to arrest them. Stark says all unregistered heroes will get a full pardon if they turn themselves over when all of this is over. Strange says that'd be something if they could survive the Hulk's anger.
Stark and Reed Richards pay a visit to Sentry. They tell him that they need him to go to the Hulk. Robert is hesitant because they are friends. He says the last time he saw the Hulk, he was fighting the Void and got every bone in his body broke. Then he found out he was the Void. Reed tells him that he is the most powerful being in the universe and they need him, the Hulk needs him.
In Manhattan, S.H.I.E.L.D. and other assorted heroes (including Spider-Man and She-Hulk) assist in evacuating everyone. Finally they've managed to evacuate five million people in twenty-three hours. A fire chief asks Spider-Man and Ms. Marvel what is the big deal, the Hulk's been dealt with before. Ms. Marvel mentions that he's different now, especially since he smashed Black Bolt. The chief doesn't know who Black Bolt is. Spider-Man mentions that before this, he thought Black Bolt was the "second most powerful guy in the galaxy." The chief says that he must be number three now.
A figure is seen flying towards them and they think it's Sentry. It turns out to be Iron Man in a huge piece of armor. Spider-Man's senses go off like crazy as Hulk's ship can be seen floating overhead. Iron Man tells them that this is his fight. He tells them not to attack until he is done with him or the Hulk is done with him. Flying towards Hulk, Hulk jumps down to meet him. The impact sends a shockwave that knocks most off their feet and smashes the windows on the surrounding buildings.
As they are engaged, Iron Man sends out a transmission. He tells everyone that he is to blame for the Hulk's anger. He says that everything he'll ever do is to protect the world. Iron Man gives Hulk a punch that sends him flying miles away. It looks like Iron Man has won as everyone cheers and thinks the fight is over (except for Rick Jones). Iron Man continues his transmission, telling the world that he has injected the Hulk with nanobots that were made to suppress his powers. As Hulk slowly tries to get up, Iron Man flies up and authorizes an air strike against the Hulk. Missles fly towards him and explode in a huge blast. Hulk yells out Caiera's name and recalls his time with her, her news that she was pregnant with his child, the explosion of the warp core that destroyed everyone. Fresh with the memory that they've killed her, his anger is renewed.
Hulk jumps up and smashes into Iron Man in the air. They land in Stark Tower and Hulk continues to smash him. The heroes look on as they see Stark Tower begin to crumble. Iron Man tries to fight back with his repulsor blasts as the building ends up a pile of rubble. The heroes rush over only to find an angry Hulk emerging from the destruction, standing over what's left of Iron Man.
Overview
When the Illuminati voted to shoot the Hulk into space, Professor X wasn't there...but the Hulk just found out he was supposed to be. So he shows up at the Xavier Institute to ask a few pointed questions, Hulk style. With the other teams away, only Beast and the New X-Men stand between the massive rage of the Hulk and the Professor...not to mention the younger students who'd be caught in the crossfire. Can the X-Men-in-training survive the wrath of the Jade Giant until the other X-teams get back? Or will the young mutants become casualties of the World War Hulk?
A little while ago, Tony Stark and Professor Xavier met to update each other. Charles informs him that Havok and Polaris and with the Starjammers and will send along information about the Shi'Ar Empire. Stark asks him if he could ask Havok to keep an eye out for the Hulk while he's out in space. Charles doesn't know why he'd run into the Hulk. Stark tells they voted to send Hulk off planet after he went on a rampage in Las Vegas. They know that he didn't end up on the uninhabited planet they intended him to land on. Since Namor voted against the idea, Tony asks Charles how he would've voted had he been there.
Today, at the Xavier Institute, Charles is in the subbasement using Cerebra to see if he can locate any new mutants. Since M Day, there hasn't been a single new mutant. Up above, Beast is having a training session with the students in the living room. He tells them that if and when they get in a battle, there will be civilians they need to be aware of. They need to be able to fight in different environments. Suddenly they feel a tremble and notice that the O.N.E. sentinels are taking off. Since they're job is to watch over the mutants at Xavier's, they wonder what emergency could have called them away. Hank turns on the television to see if there is a news reportwhen she sees the Hulk's message for all of New York City to evacuate within twenty-four hours. Hellion feels they should rush over there to take on the Hulk while Mercury says too many civilians could get hurt and they should help evacuate them.
There is another tremble and Hank rushes to the window. He is shocked to see that Hulk has arrived on their doorstep demanding to see Xavier. Prodigy and Elixir rush in to see if Hank knows that Hulk is there. Hank tells them to get the other students out through the Morlock tunnels and to tell the Professor what is going on. Rockslide is excited to be able to fight the Hulk. Beast tells him it's not something to wish for but they need to buy time for the other mutant students to escape.
Beast answers the door as Hulk has been gracious enough to wait outside for Xavier. Beast tells Hulk that Xavier can't come and when Hulk says he'll find him himself, Hank once again says he can't allow that either. Hulk knocks Hank away and tells him that he wasn't asking for permission. The other students take this as their cue to attack.
They manage to knock Hulk outside. Hulk tells Beast he has two seconds to get the kids off of him or whatever happens to them in on Hank's shoulders. Beast takes Elixir over to Hulk telling him to use his death touch on him. Elixir is hesitant because he doesn't want to kill him. Hank tells him he'd probably get a medal if he did. Hank asks Hulk if he understands what the touch did to him. He says it just made him madder. He grabs a statue and smashes it at them. He claps his hands to make a sonic boom to try to rupture Hellion's eardrums so he can't use his telekinesis. Dust tries to attack him but Hulk just grabs a water pipe from the ground and squirts her away. Hank tries attacking again only to get another punch. Now it's Rockslide's turn. Hulk seems to know that he is the one that can control his body when it's in pieces. First he rips off both his arms. Then forcing him down with his foot, he rips off both his legs. He tosses them back and asks if he can still control them if they land in Connecticut.
Hulk asks whose turn is it to get hurt next. X-23 just sees him as a target and rushes at him. Hulk asks if she's Wolverine's sidekick and grabs both her arms in one hand. X-23 uses a claw in her foot and slashes Hulk in the eyes. Surge blasts him and Beast and X-23 both start hitting and slashing him. Hulk knocks them all away saying that his eyes just grew back so that means his healing factor is back to normal (after Elixir's touch). He throws X-23 through the school's wall saying he hopes she heals like Wolverine does. He tells them that he didn't want it to be like this. He just wanted Xavier.
As Hulk looms over Hank and Elixir, he feels pain at his back. Wolverine, Cyclops, Colossus, Kitty Pryde (and Lockheed), and Emma Frost have arrived. Despite having blood pouring from his back, he seems to be happy saying that this is the fight he was expecting. Xavier appears in the doorway telling Hulk that they will not fight. Now that the students are safely away, he has come to him. Hulk notices that Xavier is walking again and says that he can "fix" that. Charles uses his powers to mentally stop Hulk. He is surprised at how fierce Hulk's mind has become. He experiences feedback and sees Hulk's experiences on Sakaar. He sees how he was a slave and gladiator. He sees that Hulk found happiness with a wife and child on the way. He sees the destruction and death of so many, including his wife and unborn child.
Beast was able to "see" all this too. Charles tries talking to Hulk. He says that the others did send him into space but they wouldn't have sent the bomb with him to destroy everything. He says that he knows that. He was able to beat some information out of Black Bolt and knows that Xavier was supposed to be there with them when they made their decision. He wants to know how he would have voted on the destruction of his life.
Hulk pays a visit to Professor Xavier and the X-men, seeking an answer to the question of how Xavier would've voted, had he been at the Illuminati meeting at which it was decided that Hulk would be banished.
In defense of Xavier, the X-men strike, and are slowly smashed, one-by-one, by a very angry Hulk.

Overview
A WORLD WAR HULK TIE-IN! Something's coming to Earth from deep space...and he's very angry. The Hulk wants revenge, and Iron Man's on his list. Can Tony Stark's space defenses even slow down the green giant? What special armor will Iron Man don against the ultimate opponent? One thing's for sure -- when these titans clash, the shockwaves will rock the Marvel Universe!
Spoilers
With the Warbound's ship about to enter the Earth's atmosphere, Tony Stark sends a fleet of his Iron Man armor to the Hulk's ship as unmanned drones. Controlling the armors from the ground, Stark's goal is to attempt to learn something of the Hulk's purpose for being back on Earth. Like Tony expected, after seeing the armors heading for the ship Hulk sends out a directional E.M.P. destroying the circuitry of all of the suits except for his stealth suit which is shielded (a move which he anticipated and was prepared for by sending this very suit up). The stealth suit makes its way to the ship when Hulk's hand reaches out into the vacuum of space and crushes it like a tin can. For the first time Tony begins to realize how serious the situation actually is.
When Hulk's ship does the first fly-over over New York city to announce the reason for his return it really begins to hit the fan for Stark. As director of S.H.I.E.L.D. he must look for what is best not only for the people in his command but the entire country. While Dum Dum Dugan begins to question Tony's leadership more now than ever, Tony makes the decision to grant total amnesty to all unregistered heroes lending a hand for the duration of the war with the Hulk.
Fortunately, Tony has been preparing for this day ever since he realized that the Hulk actually landed on Sakaar instead of where they originally intended for him to land. Tony has anticipated the Hulk's angry return and has been building his most heavy-duty Hulk-Buster armor ever.
When fighting breaks out with the Hulk, Iron Man has a deep conversation with his inner self about the reasons for why this is happening and of the nature of his responsibility in the matter. He sends out an audio apology for all of those who are still close enough to listen while he is battling the Hulk. He injects the Hulk with the same nannites he used to de-power the She-Hulk as well as so many of the Hulk's gamma based enemies hoping it will at least slow the Hulk down. In the end the Hulk's heightened rage show that Stark's trickery may not mean success for the Earth, or survival for the heroes targeted by the Hulk.

The Illuminati called the Hulk a monster -- and shot him into space. But Amadeus Cho, the boy genius who took on Reed Richards in INCREDIBLE HULK #100, calls the Hulk a hero -- and prepares for his return. With just his big brain, a lot of guts and a few billion dollars stolen from Warren Worthington III, Cho tackles the insane task of building a team of heroes willing to side with the Hulk against the rest of the Marvel Universe. Will Hercules and Angel become the Hulk's Champions? Will Namor be his Defender? And what happens when the Prince of Power meets the Green King on Manhattan's shattered streets?
Hulk’s Warbound discuss their plans for battle on the way to Earth. They size up their primary targets, the Illuminati, but Korg and Brood say that there will be more. “Heroes” like Thor and the X-Men. Hulk says it doesn’t matter because they’re all puny humans, but because they’re puny and scared they’ll call them all monsters and hunt them all across the universe and kill anyone and everyone they love. They join hands as Warbound and promise to stand by him anyway and their robot tells them that they’re getting close to Earth. Before they strike, Korg asks if there are any allies among the humans, but Hulk says if they’re human, they’re not his friends.
On Earth, Amadeus Cho hooks up with Hercules and Angel. He tries to talk them both into teaming up with him to help Hulk. Before they can really say anything, a SHIELD helicarrier appears and orders them to surrender Amadeus to them and not to believe anything he says. Amadeus distracts Hercules and Angel while he activates a device that makes the helicarrier launch missiles at them. Angel flies Amadeus away and Hercules wrecks the flying vessel. Later the trio sit in an internet café and Warren tries to get some money but finds his accounts locked. Amadeus informs Warren that a week earlier he had stolen 1.2 billion dollars just so they’d have money now. He also bought a flying submarine for what they were about to do next, and the desert where Banner became Hulk.
They take the submarine down to Atlantis to talk to Namor and along the way they are hit by a tidal wave. Once they get down there, Namor tells them how stupid they are and that Hulk isn’t a nice guy, he’s a maniac. Right after he tells them that the tidal wave was caused by something near the moon, his cousin Namora comes and plays the video of Hulk and his speech. When Hercules hears that Hulk lost his wife, he identifies with the Jade Giant and wants to help even more. Namor threatens to stop them but Namora stands up to him. She remembers that she had been long forgotten for decades and abandoned by her friends and family and she doesn’t want to do that to Hulk. Namor won’t strike his cousin so he smashes their ship and leaves. The Amadeus fixes the ship and he and his companions head over to New York. On the way they see some Hulk fanatics that are heading to the fight instead of running away. They try to get them away but before they can, Hulk hits Iron Man and sends a shockwave through the city.
Amadeus tries to contact Hulk’s ship but Miek sees him as nothing more than a human and takes their ship out of the sky. Amadeus and his friends fall to the ground near the Hulk fans. They get to work protecting the humans while Hulk and Iron Man fight. Hulk gets up after beating Iron Man and sees all the people. He sees them as enemies and attacks. Hercules tries to stand up to him but gets battered. He eventually seems to get through to Hulk and tells them that they’re all there to help, but will he come to accept their assistance?
