    Wonder Woman

Character » Wonder Woman appears in 8808 issues.

The Amazon princess, blessed with god-like super abilities, Wonder Woman is one of Earth's most powerful defenders of peace, justice, and equality and a member of the Justice League. She is considered an archetype for many heroines outside of comic book. Her initial origin depicted her as a clay baby brought to life by patron goddess Aphrodite, but in recent years she has been depicted as the daughter of Zeus and Amazon queen Hippolyta.

I recently saw the remake of MAD MAX. There was a character in that film named “Valkyrie”....played by none other than WW-candidate, Megan Gale!

How appropriate that someone who was once thought of as WW material is now playing a similar archetypal character.

The writers of the new MAD MAX film even wrote into the story that Valkyrie comes from a tribe of women who lived in a paradise like village! And that the village is no longer in existence, replaced by a desolate nothing that now blends in with the surrounding desert wasteland. And now those women villagers must live as nomads traveling all over the place...kinda like the incarnation of Amazons written by J. Michael Straczynski....hmmmmmmm.

Now, recently I was shown this comicbook that had some Marvel characters in them that resembled DC characters.

There have been many female characters that have been created from the WW archetypal blueprint of the heroine's journey...Buffy, LFNikita, etc. But then there's also creating female characters as copy cat offshoots of WW...such as Zealot, Darna, Glory, or the Olympian (from "Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths").

Well, it appears Marvel has come up with yet another WW-copy cat character, Warrior Woman. Very amusing!

Not only that, but Marvel went a step ahead and made a copy cat (<---Heh!) of Cheetah!

Just take a look at these pics!

Not only WW, but I can see that the new characters also resemble, Superman, Batman, the Flash, and Capt Atom. Tell me it ain't so!

And check out the name of their version of Flash...The WHIZZER! Ha, ha, ha, ha!! LOL

Oh sure...Whizzer...the man who relieves himself all over the place!

"I'll be there in a whizz!"

"Are we there yet?...Are we there yet?...This car is too slow. I need to go take a whizz."

"Watch me whizz up the side of this building!"

"I'm gonna take a whizz around the block."

"Ahhhh! I just whizzed across the lake."

"Let's see what happens when I whizz along the electric fence."
