I think it would be interesting if wonder woman would date a woman

#3 Posted by Katie24 (488 posts) - - Show Bio

And by "Don't Kind" do you mean "Don't Care"?

#4 Posted by BlackArmor (6138 posts) - - Show Bio

Like I've said before, while I don't necessarily think she's bi and I know she's not a lesbian I do feel like Amazon's would have a different view of sexuality that would make this not wierd, so no I don't care.........but I prefer she goes with Trevor

#5 Posted by Ravager4 (1627 posts) - - Show Bio

Considering she grew up in a society of only women, a society that looks down on man and goes out of its way to seclude itself from them, I'm actually surprised it hasn't been stated she's at least bi... I mean, if you're raised in a society where there's only one gender, you'd think your views would be a little different than elsewhere.

I agree. As an ancient Greek, I doubt Wonder Woman is particularly interested in labeling her sexuality. But I would like to see her get romantically involed with someone, man or woman.

Why do you kind if he misspelled it?

#8 Posted by InnerVenom123 (29510 posts) - - Show Bio

I wouldn't care in the slightest.

#9 Posted by The Stegman (25968 posts) - - Show Bio

It wouldn't bother...parts of me.

Yes. :). Its these care of mistakes that confuse people! :P

Yeah, I would not care in anyway, I mean its just a comic book, right?

#12 Posted by UsagiTsukino (245 posts) - - Show Bio

I didn't notice that at first. Yes I was going to say doesn't matter.

I wouldn't mind, might even prefer it, but I honestly always thought the Amazons should be asexual. It'd be cool if they devoted themselves to self and cultural betterment then when WW comes to the outside world, she is introduced to the world of sex for the first time. That might be a more mature theme than a rated T comic book should have though.

If Trevor is okay with it, I'm okay with it. Lol.

High five. Couldn't agree more.

I think people would only care if it's a gay relationship, but I digress. While I'm not a big fan of Wonder Woman, it wouldn't bother me. I like Batwoman series, so it doesn't matter if she comes out as gay, as long as the quality of the book is good, I don't mind.

IF! wonder woman ever! dated a other woman, what i would do is (100% Seriously) going wild with my money and start to BUY wonder woman comic and not reading them online :D

Yes because it would me the industry thinks that a woman can't be strong without being a lesbian, and that's a bad message.

#21 Posted by knighthood (1744 posts) - - Show Bio

Yknow the Amazons are man haters. It would kinda make sense. :)

#22 Posted by _Zombie_ (10448 posts) - - Show Bio

Not really. It'd be weird, considering that her character has shown little to no homosexual/bisexual tendencies.. but it wouldn't really matter that much.

i'm sorry but this is the dumbest thing ive ever read/heard.

on topic: trevor is a lie. there are 0 chances of a woman growing in an all female island with no interraction with man to not be at least bisexual. she would have been the logic choice for the reveal than alan scott.

What do you mean by "strong" ? Strength or Mentality ? Storm (Ororo Monroe) - for example - stands by herself, she's a leader and is not a lesbian.

Powergirl is physically strong, and she's not a lesbian neither. Rogue(as Miss Marvel) was strong in both senses, and wasnt a lesbian neither.

Gosh yes it matters.

#26 Posted by RazzaTazz (8968 posts) - - Show Bio

it wouldn't bother me if it was written correctly, it would be really hard to write correctly though as she has about 40 years of being written as heterosexual in the golden age and another 25 years of being written as either uninterested in romance, or interested in the occasional man since then.

#27 Posted by Ms. Omega (4538 posts) - - Show Bio

I could care less honestly.

#28 Posted by sethysquare (3842 posts) - - Show Bio

Yes, because I want Diana to be with Steve Trevor and we already got one hot lesbian top selling book - Batwoman, so I dont see a point to turn every female lesbian.

#29 Posted by HowTerribleIsThat (349 posts) - - Show Bio

I want to vote that it would matter because I think it would be a good thing. But I have a feeling that that's not what people will read a "yes" vote as.

@TheCrowbar: If there's an under representation of strong straight women in comics then that's because women themselves are underrepresented in comics. That doesn't seem like a good reason to not have strong lesbian women.

#30 Posted by SandMan_ (4528 posts) - - Show Bio
It wouldn't bother me actually. Include Superman and I'll be happy.
#31 Posted by jointron33 (1813 posts) - - Show Bio

It would be an idiotic change, just like what's been done to Alan Scott

Mentality.

Storm doesn't stand by herself what so ever. She's a horrible character.

Power Girl, who I've been a long time fan of, isn't the same Power Girl from before the DCnU. If we could have her back I'd love it and really wouldn't care about it.

Rogue hasn't been a strong character since the whole love triangle crap happened. I'm not talking about the industry of the past because those days are behind us, looking at comic book females now, they're one extreme or the other there's no balance.

Who we already have in Batwoman. Though I do agree with your former point. Women are too background in comics at the moment.

As long as the chick she's dating is hot, it wouldn't bother me.

#34 Edited by lorex (958 posts) - - Show Bio

Like always my main concern is the story, and if the story was good I could accept it. I makes sense that Wonder Woman would be comfortable expressing affection to other women due to her upbringing.
That being said I think it would be a MAJOR stunt if DC did this and might not have a long tern benefit despite any short term interest created by this.

I wouldnt be surprise, she is a amazon

#36 Posted by fodigg (6136 posts) - - Show Bio

I wouldn't mind but I'd want to see how they explain it.

TC, I think the point is that we should have more of both. They should not say no to more bi and lesbian characters because they already hit a quota or something. Batwoman is a great character. So is Renee Montoya. And Scandal Savage. They could also bring back characters like Grace Choi and Thunder if they wanted. But none of that should mean they shouldn't have more, and I think it's perfectly reasonable for a literal Amazon to deal with sapphic themes.

Again, I'd want to see how it was handled before judging it, but we're still in the opening stages of a revamp and so far we've learned that she 1) doesn't dig Steve Trevor and 2) doesn't dig Hades, and that's about all we know about her orientation. They could still go that route if they wanted.

I think she should take a guy, and by a guy, I mean Aquaman.

Screw Mera, Aquaman should date Wonder Woman. There, I said it.
