This probably hasn't been done before but I'm sure it has. I'm a huge fan of MMA fighting. I think Miss Carano is a great fighter and has a amazing physique for a woman. I would love to see her take the role of a strong female fighter like Wonder Woman. Lets not try to make this a Gal Gadot bashing thread.
Wonder Woman
Character » Wonder Woman appears in 8808 issues.
The Amazon princess, blessed with god-like super abilities, Wonder Woman is one of Earth's most powerful defenders of peace, justice, and equality and a member of the Justice League. She is considered an archetype for many heroines outside of comic book. Her initial origin depicted her as a clay baby brought to life by patron goddess Aphrodite, but in recent years she has been depicted as the daughter of Zeus and Amazon queen Hippolyta.
Would Gina Carano make a good Wonder Woman?
@cgoodness: She does a bit of acting. Have you watch Fast and Furious 6?
@cgoodness: She does a bit of acting. Have you watch Fast and Furious 6?
No.....well if she acts then she has my approval as long as she can deliver a strong female warrior performance
@cgoodness: Yeah, I was going to suggest Ronda Rousey too but some may find her to be meh.
This has been done before a dozen times before and the general consensus is that Carano may have the body type, but that she couldn't act her way out of a wet paper bag.
And let me be blunt, this is going to be the same for 95% of all wrestlers, they all look the part of 'muscle mountain' but only the last 5% have any hope of successfully jumping from the ring to the big screen.
The likes of Carano and Ronda, could feature in a WW movie, but not as Diana... more like Aleka or Shim'Tar, maybe Mercy Graves.

Sorry :( but we do not need a person that does a bit of acting for Wonder Woman. The super heroine name is bigger than her career.

Just wondering, what about Gadot? I honest to God had no clue who she was till the WW announcement a year ago. I don't even really like the Fast and Furious movies so yeah.
@saint_sophie: From what I can gather Gadot was at least better than Gina Garano in those movies. Professional athletes generally arent good actors. For every Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson there are 20 Hulk Hogans, or Kevin Durants (if you havent seen Thunderstruck....just dont EVER). The other advantage that Gadot has is that she has room to grow and become a better actress. Carano has hit her acting ceiling. Gal Gadot hasnt acted a bunch and I'm assuming that something in her audition was at least not terrible. Henry Cavill was a great casting choice so they must have some idea about what they want to bring to the character.
@saint_sophie: I think she got the role because she had the most chemistry with Ben Affleck during the casting session for Wonder Woman. Sometimes that happens in movies. The chemistry would outweigh the talent of the individual actress. That's why you see some actors and actress in a lot of movies together.

It was my assumption that when the actresses DC wanted wasn't available they hopped onto the Gadot bandwagon or something like that. From what I've seen in Gadot, she's okay. I may need more to gauge her, but from what I've seen so far, I'm very doubtful.
Until then, my view for Gadot is: "Awful until proven otherwise".

Hmm, that might explain it.
Till the movie beings in a little over two years, I'll be waiting to see whether it succeeds, or flops. Tbh, I'm willing to bet that the movie will rake in a decent sum but Gadot's performance will probably be noted (and I don't mean that in a good way). Once again, I'm willing to see if Gadot's performance will be difference from my opinion, but honestly, depending on how big her role is in BvS, all we need to do is judge from that (if she plays a major role) and then we have a general picture painted for how WW will be in 2017.
Yeah, she'd be great.
Infinitely better than Gal Gadot.
Of course, she dated Henry Cavill for a couple years, and they broke up, so that probably wouldn't work...
@saint_sophie: I don't think she will have a major role. I'm pretty sure they're going to focus on Batman and Superman's relationship and how it evolved from enemies to teammates/friends. I could be wrong on that but seeing as what the title is, I'll bet on my theories. I agree with you that I don't think she's a great actress. She probably needs acting classes/lessons/tips more than body building since I don't really see much progress with that.
What I think her role is going to be though is Batman (Affleck's) love interest. Remember when news were spreading that they were casting for Batman's love interest in BvS? People had a bunch of theories on who it was going to be, from Supergirl to Catwoman. But then, the next casting news was Gadot getting the role of Wonder Woman. After that, we never heard much about the casting of Batman's love interest in BvS. So I'm going to go with my theory, which is why I stated that she probably got the role because of chemistry screening with Ben Affleck and the directors like what they saw.

If Gina did end up getting the part, it wouldn't really matter. I mean as long as they get paid who cares. Of course, her acting skill is also to be noted.
Also, for example, Lively and Penn both dated in real life and on screen in Gossip Girl. They broke up in real life but still had to see each other almost every day for shooting till the series finale when their characters got married heh.
@nybreezy: WW being Batman's love interest for BvS? ..... Yuck. I despised that relationship in DCAU and my view on it is still the same, I meant to say. Imo, I don't think she'll have a big role, but she won't have a minor role either.
@saint_sophie: No matter if you despise it or not, I'm just connecting the dots and figuring out what I might suspect will happen based on the news that came out.
And lol, saying a relationship is gross does not sound indifferent. Just saying.
@nybreezy: I know that you're making a guess at what might happen in the movie. i just gave my two cents on the Batman/Wonder Woman relationship.
Also, poor wording on my behalf. I probably should've said "same" but I just typed up the first word my mind decided to spit out. I'll edit it. But by indifferent, I was referring to this day, my view on the Batman/Wonder Woman relationship is still the same as it was in the past. Well, I meant same now so heh.
@saint_sophie: Fair enough. And since I like messing with people. LOOK at one of the most beautiful moment in DC's history! Haha!

Same thing, that's why I didn't like the casting made but what else can I do? They've already hired her and considering another substitute would just make my head ache. Lol
there are so many ways she fits the character better than Gal so yeah I would be down with that, she has the look body and skill.

What skill would that be?
