Next year, Gal Gadot will be playing the role of Wonder Woman in the upcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, but she wasn't the first person cast to play the role in a Justice League film. Back in 2009, director of Mad Max: Fury Road, had the chance to direct a Justice League movie and someone else was cast to play the hero from Themyscira.

Australian model and actress Megan Gale was originally going to play the part and photographer Mark Rogers, who took some stills of the actress for the film, posted this photo on his website. This is the only photo anyone has seen, but there are some similarities to the Gal Gadot version, even though the Gale version is a bit more colorful.

What do you think of the costume from the 2009 film that never happened?

Megan doesn't have the eyes for the role

I actually prefer that version because it actually has some colour. Though Megan looks too skinny for the role...

Nice definitely looks alright, but I really like Gal Gadot's costume more personally. I always like Dianna's more warrior-esque designs.

I feel like some sort of mix between the two would have been perfect really. If I had to choose, however, I would have chosen the one we are getting.

To me this looks like something out of an unconventional challenge on Project Runway, where the corset was sewn from cricket balls which took up so much time that the skirt had to be whipped up at the last minute from a European flag. I like the tiara (which she's wearing wrong) and that's where it stops.

I like the 2009 design. It stays close to the traditional Wonder Woman, but is just modern enough to be acceptable for a movie. If Wonder Woman isn't going to wear full armor, I think I'd accept the colorful version more.

The Batman v Superman version will have WW's colors. The one in the preview was the first released pic which was intentionally retoned.

Gal's looks better, but gales would have been doable too.....

Neither look is all that good but this version has the same issue that Gal which is the lady is way to thin.

Who is Megan Gale? I'd never heard of her when the casting announcement for the Miller movie was released back when, and I haven't heard of her since.

As far as the costume, Gadot's looks much better and she looks much better in it. Not even close.

I really wanted to see Megan... she is over 5ft 11in tall and those eyes and ethnic looks are perfect, plus apparently here readings were supposed to have been spot on. Oh well.

Megan Gale looks like Megan Fox. The costume is bright, but there's no eagle. Gal Gadot's is flat and dark almost from a black and white movie. It's a shame they couldn't go with something brighter.

Geroge Miller is an awesome director but overall, even though i would love a Justice league film directed by him, it would bomb with the general audience because his style goes over the public's head.

Mad Max: Fury Road was a masterpiece but the casual viewer just saw it as a 2 hr long chase sequence

Her eyes. They look bored/stoned and sometimes even dead. Gal Gadot is maybe not as hot but she actually has eyes for playing the warrior part.

If someone said Chris Pratt didn't have the eyes to play Star Lord would you realise how stupid that sounded?

Mix the new costume with the colour scheme of the George Millier one and we have a winner!!!

What does that have to do with anything? First off, Star Lord was not nearly as iconic as WW is. But lets put that aside. Star Lord was always a humorous guy. And Chris Pratt goes well with that.

For warrior roles you need someone who has a sharp gaze.

I believe i explained it well enough in the last post. She looks bored. She doesnt look like a warrior at all.

Eyes are very important when you are casting a character.

Why do they refuse to give WW a full skirt? Both times the skirt has been cut in a way that would't be desirable in a battle situation. I'd be more interested in seeing Supes' suit which allegedly had the Kingdom Come logo.

@chimeroid: looks have nothing to do we with being a warrior, at all. You think Chris Hemsworth looks like a warrior? Or Chris Evans looks like a soldier? No, they look like male models. Actions not looks.

I don't think that is true at all, but "opinions". She reminds me of Megan Fox in the eyes. I'm not saying that's a bad or good thing, just an observation. Overall, Gadot is more the knockout.

Anyway, I like the blue skirt more. Other than that, both outfits are really similar so I have no complaints.

Bro. Looks dont have anything to do with anything IRL. But once more. Would you like Steve Buscemi as Captain america? I sure as hell would not. I simply dont see in Megan Gale what i want to see in a Wonder Woman. ANd most of all i dont like the look in her eyes. We saw both Gal and Megan trying to look badass and Megan didnt sell it to me at all. With main issue being in the look in her eyes.

Looks is 85% of a movie role. You may not like it, but that is exactly how it is. Even an average actor will make a good shot after 50 takes. WHat you want is someone who can look the part.

I know people would love this just to spite the Snyder DC-verse, but this simply doesn't do it for me. Yes its more colorful, but it looks all too plain and doesn't even seem to fit her. I'd Megan Gale as her, but that costume makes me relieved that it never made it to screen.
