Wonder Woman Movie

It seems as though were having all the great comic hero movies coming out and yet, still no Wonder Woman. So I thought it would be a fun idea for us comic fans to maybe state our ideas of what we would think would make a good movie about the most famous Heroine of all time. Maybe even cast ideas to go along with it. So I will start:

We start on Themyscira, as Diana and most of the Amazons are pit from one trial to the next to determine who will become Wonder Woman. As Diana progresses she gets more stronger, faster, and more powerful until she emerges victorious. With the blessing from her mother the Queen she is whisked away by magic to Mount Olympus where she stands in front of the gods. Each one bestows upon her a gift so that she can venture to man's world and teach them about compassion and humanity, which is growing weaker as the years go by.

Fast forward to some major city where Diana saves lives in several mishaps and introducing her to the world as Wonder Woman.

At this time a rogue green lantern corp member seeks safety from his fellow green lanterns on Earth. He uses his power to take over New York at which time Wonder Woman flies in to do Epic battle and save the city from the evil clutches of Universo. At the end of the battle, Wonder Woman stands victorious and in Hal Jordan to take Universo into custody and also offers Wonder Woman a place on the Justice League team.

Thus her future with the JL starts and ends movie number 1 of Wonder Woman.

Cast:

Wonder Woman - Sandra Bullock

The Queen - Linda Carter

Universo - Michael Rosenbaum

Hal Jordan - Ryan Reynolds

So that's my movie idea. Does anyone else have one??

Honest: terrible script

Nah, you don't start a hero's first movie by showcasing another hero, or their concept. I know that you're trying to set up a JL movie by doing this, but you need a softer touch. Don't start the team-ups too early.

Lynn Collins would play a better Wonder Woman that Sandra Bullock. Anyone but Ryan Reynolds, please!

#5 Posted by HolySerpent (12727 posts) - - Show Bio

Having a green lantern as a villian in the first Wonder Woman movie even though green lanterns are not part of Womder Womans mythology nor are they evil is full blown retarted. And eveyone knows you dont go full retart XD

#6 Posted by Cirelick (14 posts) - - Show Bio

Her first villain should be Cheetah, since everyone is familiar with the Wonder Woman/Cheetah rivalry.

#7 Posted by HolySerpent (12727 posts) - - Show Bio

Not cheetah either....

I think if the first Perez storyline were tweaked it would be a great script for a movie

#9 Posted by Jean_Luc_LeBeau (84704 posts) - - Show Bio

I think the first Storyline shouldnt be about her origin. Save that for the sequel which would be a prequel. Make Maxwell Lord her adversary cause lets be honest, WW snapping his neck is the most memorable moment she's had in the last 10 years (for comicbook fans who dont religiously read her book). Ink a script involving a tweaked version of the Sacrifice arc, have her fight Superman at the end while Maxwell Lord and some shady CIA style origination play the major villain role. You're all welcome :D

LYN COLLINS AS WONDER WOMAN. She is just perfect, she has the features, looks and the body to pull it of, plus she looks amazing as a warrior.

All you really need to do is adapt Perez run from the 80s, with some changes to make it match up with the alterations to the mythos from the recent run (i.e. you don't show the Queen forming Diana from clay)

Open with the destruction of Amazon civilization by Heracles, and the subsequent enslavement of the Amazons.

You show them escaping slavery through the Queen's distraction of the guards and the epic battle for escape. The gods show them the way to Themyscira, where you can do a montage of the construction of the island over time.

You have this told as a story to a young-adult Diana, who rebels at having heard it all before, and wonders whether there is more to the world than life on the island.

Steve Trevor crash-lands, prompting the Queen to call the contest of champions to determine who will represent Themyscira in man's world.

Diana wins, in epic fashion and is presented with the Wonder Woman armor, which we don't see.

She escorts Steve back to the US, where she is interrogated by the US Military.

It is revealed that the God of War, Ares, is manipulating US Generals, trying to start WWIII.

Planes are launched, with plans to destroy Themyscira as the first strike in the massive war. Ares needs them out of the way.

Steve frees Diana and supplies her with the Wonder Woman armor, which he has retrieved during some nifty spy-action sequences.

Diana and Steve engage the jets attacking Themyscira while Steve's plucky sidekick Etta tries to expose the General who is being manipulated by Ares to his superiors.

Once the attack has been stopped and the General has burned to a crisp, Wonder Woman and Steve are debriefed by Amanda Waller, who let's her know that she'll be in touch. She suspects Ares was "in league" with something larger, something coming for Earth. Setup for JL.

There you go. Wonder Woman. Massive profits. Setup for Justice League.

What about introducing Wonder Woman in a Justice League movie. It could begin with Darkseid attacking from space and hitting Steve Trevor's plane. He's forced to crash land on Paradise Island. Wonder Woman then has to return Steve to the United States and join rest of the current film JLA to protect Darkseid from destroying Themyscira. All the while Batman faces off with Darkseid in Gotham, Superman in Metropolis, and Green Lantern in space. It could all climax to a final showdown with Darkseid himself and the hereos uniting to defeat him.

It could set up a stand alone Wonder Woman film and give the fans a Justice League movieat the same time.

This is just horrible. I don't know much about the actors, so I won't say anything about the cast, but the plot is just horrible. Green Lantern as the villain shows this guy doesn't know a f**king thing about comic books.

This sounds pretty good. The important thing is to not make it cheesy/cringey. Which is potentially a difficult thing to avoid doing with WW. It has to be epic ala filming style of 300. Kind of gritty, but still PG-13. *Imagines huge Amazonian army fight scenes*. It's going to have to have a brief (very, very brief) history on the Amazons at the beginning, or something similar. Like a montage of battles, and Themyscira. Dammit, I want this film to be made already!

Its so easy to come up with a plot summary. almost anyone can do it. The key is the DIALOG and Actions within a 120 page script that works.

WW should be a Hellenistic epic in modern setting. She should be the daughter of Zeus to start, with that revelation on the table (this makes her easy to understand to the general audience: "female hercules") and paradise island will have been destroyed by some ancient evil that was freed by evil gods, like Hera, Ares, or Hades. Then the plot is simple, WW goes out into "man's world," has to slay the monster and confront the evil. Along the way she meets and teams up with action guy Steve Trevor who is her side kick and occasional dude in distress. Simple.

@RedQueen: Well said Red Queen, great story. Its very close to one I wrote. But I think I might have to steal that enslaved Amazonians bit from you, that´s brilliant and brings things right down to Earth.

Seriously good job.

The guy whose article it is, love your enthusiasm for WW, but Sandra Bullock? please no. worst casting since Ben Affleck did Dare devil. Any way. both check out by cast and idea for film.

I think a lot of things other than the cast make the movie but I must say this is the worst fan cast

@WDW: I'll agree with that 100%. Honestly, though, with 132 pages of dialogue-filled storyboards at their disposal, most of the work has been done for them.

Heck, I have two or three Wonder Woman scripts kicking around on my hard drive. Hey Hollywood, you reading this? My email address is on my website. :)

Sounds a lot like the animated Wonder Woman film. Every time I watch it, I imagine the same story with real people. It could and should work.

As much as I think wonder woman needs a live action movie, I'm not very confident they will get it right. Sorry but Warner bros. does not have a good track record on making live action movies about DC characters, although there were some good ones. So far we had superman 3, the quest for peace, supergirl, superman returns, batman and robin, steel, catwoman, Jonah hex, green lantern and a few more. Sorry if I'm pessimistic, but the last thing I want to see is wonder woman portrayed like these characters were.

@TheCannon: Correct me if I'm wrong but the Red Power ring is powered with Rage, not quite a heroes bread and butter. The Yellow power ring is powered by fear, also not the heroes bread and butter. I apologize by saying the Green Lantern Corp even though I do believe that even they can go rogue, but Red or Yellow could easily be considered an evil ring depending on who wore it. NOT TO MENTION Amazo had a copy of Hal Jordan's Green power ring with all its powers, so my suggestion as a rogue green lantern doesn't mean I know nothing about comics, it means I actually know more than you do. If you did not like my idea then fine, whatever, but this thread was made for, and I state "So I thought it would be a fun idea for us comic fans to maybe state our ideas of what we would think would make a good movie about the most famous Heroine of all time." end quote. Instead of being an asshole how about just stick to the thread or leave your unwanted opinions at the door.

Okay, so most people didn't like the idea of Sandra as WW. I have saw others ideas and agree that the one chick pictured seems like a great choice. I was leaning for Sandra because it would bring a named actor to the movie which can work for or against a movie. Sorry if you don't think she's sexy but I find her very sexy and an amazing actress. Maybe she doesn't fit the amazonian role but she did kick a little butt in Judge Dredd. I like Mrshway88's idea.

Think you're mixing up Diane Lane with Sandra Bullock, or are thinking of another movie (Demolition Man?).

@LexLuthor: You are probably correct. The movie with Sylvester Stalone and Wesley Snipes. Futuristic, probably Demolition Man. lol
