The Amazon princess, blessed with god-like super abilities, Wonder Woman is one of Earth's most powerful defenders of peace, justice, and equality and a member of the Justice League. When it comes to makeup I have to admit that I am a bit of a late bloomer.  When I was in high school the extent of makeup which I wore was lip balm.  I am not sure why exactly, I guess at some point I felt like wearing more, but I didn't want the scrutiny of having everyone think that I just started to wear makeup.  So when I got to university it provided a decent break from the past and an opportune time to start.  I guess as someone that started having an interest in this later it became something which I tend to go overboard on.  I will sometimes waste a couple of hours trying to recreate a makeup look from MAC which I would never actually wear outside.  Although a fictional character I have always seen Wonder Woman as sort of like the older me, though not really for the same reasons.  Certainly she a a beautiful women and so much so that makeup might be not very useful, but I still also thought that when she ever did get around to using makeup that it would seem out of place.  In Wonder Woman #3 was the first time I recall her ever wearing makeup at all ever, and I guess in a strange analogy that me going to university and the the new 52 served as a clean slate.  I am not sure if I like her look, but probably more so than as usual that the artists depict women is ridiculous outfits in their personal lives and so the makeup which is subdued and really nice looking I suppose, gets dragged down with the whole outfit.  Regardless it is interesting to be in the Wonder Woman makeup era.

I am not a fan of putting makeup on myself. It looks fine on others though.

@RazzaTazz: What, a brother can't be interested in make up? You're going to judge just because I secretly enjoy going into my girlfriend's closet and putting on some lip balm at night, then go party in a dress? Are you?

To be honest, I think I've seen her with this in the first or second issue.

@ReVamp: Not judgmental at all, just not a topic most guys would find interesting.  You might be right about the previous three issues, but I think she was mostly in her costume the whole time.

Interesting topic. I don't think there's anything wrong with Diana choosing to experiment with makeup after she's left Paradise Island. Heck, I'm sure even Paradise Island had some form of cosmetics, though probably nothing like what the modern west uses. The above looks like a little lip color and some eye shadow. That's not exactly overboard as I understand it (which I admit isn't much).

I'm not sure why you don't like the rest of her outfit though. Have you been to many heavy metal concerts? Sure, it's mostly long hair, jeans, and black t-shirts, but for girls especially more elaborate get-ups are not that uncommon. Goth scene costumes are even more elaborate. I thought it was an interesting cross between her heroic uniform and what some girls wear to metal concerts.

It's an interesting point, I don't think I considered it until you mentioned it, and applicable to many super-heroines especially while on the job perhaps as well. fodigg pretty much said what came to my mind. A lot of make-up, and yes guyz too boys, started as sort of a battle tradition among warriors. It's plausible they could have had an depicted form as such, and societies consumer based products make just as much sense to her naturally as they stem from similar origins and possibly the same in her universe. Personally I want to see her in clown make-up, just once. (:

Well,I don't think Wonder Woman would need to put make-up on or that she'd ever wanted to-for what reason?
