    Wonder Woman

Character » Wonder Woman appears in 8805 issues.

The Amazon princess, blessed with god-like super abilities, Wonder Woman is one of Earth's most powerful defenders of peace, justice, and equality and a member of the Justice League. She is considered an archetype for many heroines outside of comic book. Her initial origin depicted her as a clay baby brought to life by patron goddess Aphrodite, but in recent years she has been depicted as the daughter of Zeus and Amazon queen Hippolyta.

@saren: So you like the issue.

It's a fun book, every issue has a Justice Leaguer getting ribbed.

@brunnhilde: It's Hitman and it's Garth Ennis, the entire series just makes fun of superheroes by portraying them in the most exaggerated ways. Except for Superman; Ennis loves Superman, but he's made fun of Batman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter et al before. I don't know if he's ever done Wonder Woman by herself (outside of the Hitman/JLA crossover), or at least I don't remember. This might be the first time.

Reminded me that Hitman revealed he has x-ray vision and that he was oogling her with it... until the threat took it away from him. Oh and he threw up on Batman's boots once... and wet himself the other.

So far this book has disappointed me greatly. I expected to laugh my ass off at the whole mocking of the JL members but Ennis didn't manage to do that. His attempt at this came out as trying too hard and didn't succeed at all.

He still has time to redeem himself.

@saren: Damn and the Wonder Woman fans have enough bad things going on with their character at the moment.

Quick question if you can answer it; do you think Ennis will have the stomach to rib on Superman as he has on Batman, MMH and Wonder Woman thus far? Or will he write Superman as the guy who gives Section 8 some inspirational message at the end of the series? Because that's what's looking like will happen.

And here I am just thinking they happen to expose him to some of that exotic kryptonite like the one from Superman/Batman of yore. Maybe the kind that made him act like a teenager.

Garth Ennis ripping on superheroes? I'm shocked.

Maybe one of these days someone can take a dig at one of his characters.
