Because females are always over sexualized in comics. It's common criticism directed towards the comics industry in general. I love comics, but its stupidity to deny it.

I dont see any issue with women being portrayed as more feminine as a contrast to the cartoonish masculinity that is portrayed in comic book men. That said, there have been sexualized portrayals of women that even I saw as a parody beyond what is commonly acceptable, such as the New 52 Starfire or Catwoman.

Well, I dont personally follow controversies about characters who I personally see as really solid, likeable characters. I was merely replying to the contention posted by Extremis.

As far as the bondage thing, in the past, Wonder Woman was actually created by a sadomasochist, and her primary weakness was being bound (tied up) by a man. It was a totally legitimate complaint, whereas, for the most part I see any new complaints about Diana as illegitimate.

I'm thinking that these controversies is probably residual comments left over from the change from the original costume to the JMS pants costume back to the original costume design at the start of the New 52. Otherwise, since Chiang's art has been focused on reducing the sexiness, all I've seen was compliments concerning the drawing of Wonder Woman by the few, but vocal minority who otherwise would be complaining about how sexy Wonder Woman is being drawn.

Yeah and what are you getting at? The character was made up by William Moulton Marston, who was into SNM.
