Batman has Joker, Superman has Lex Luthor, but who would you say is Wonder Woman's archnemesis? I'm talking about a bitter rival who comes back to menace her time and time again and who has had Wonder Woman on the ropes more than once.
I'm leaning more towards a baddie of hers who could be seen allying her or himself with the Legion of Doom rather than a "OH MY GOD WE'RE SCREWED" type of baddie like Doomsday or Darkseid, but I'll take whatever you guys can give me, lol
Wonder Woman
Character » Wonder Woman appears in 8808 issues.
The Amazon princess, blessed with god-like super abilities, Wonder Woman is one of Earth's most powerful defenders of peace, justice, and equality and a member of the Justice League. She is considered an archetype for many heroines outside of comic book. Her initial origin depicted her as a clay baby brought to life by patron goddess Aphrodite, but in recent years she has been depicted as the daughter of Zeus and Amazon queen Hippolyta.
Who is Wonder Woman's Archnemesis?

@ComicMan24: I had forgot it. But yes, all amazon chicks hate that dude. Well... nobody really likes him!
She doesn't need an arch-villain. Her villain's recidivism rates arn't nearly as bad as Batman's. And Cheetah is a perfectly fine villain, if you ask me.
Cheetah, Giganta, Circe are the only major ones I can think of... yeah very underwhelming for Wonder Woman.
IT'S ARES! Dude has even come to menace Wonder Woman from the dead-ish. Read Wonder Woman:Gods and Mortals
Also what is the deal with the cheetah hating? I think the Cheetah is like a carnage who moves faster and likes to plan her murderous ways more.

Just because she doesn't have a lot of recurring villains (and you forgot Giganta, Ares, Dr. Psycho, Felix Foust, and Hercules), it doesn't mean she's underwhelming. She has quite a few good ark-specific villains. I think it shows how effective she is as a crime fighter, since nobody can say she's an inefective for having a million villains that come back every 2 seconds.
@Son_of_Magnus:
I think that would be Dr. Poison, actually.
Not that I've read anything with her as the main bad guy in it in the modern age. But I know she's still around (hence the second picure, and a few minor appearances).
Lol, who knows, maybe by the end of the current ark her arch-nemesis will be "mysterious lasso guy".
" One of Wonder Woman's problems as a major super hero is she lacks a villain which defines her as a hero. Yes she has several prominent enemies but none on the level of The Joker or Luthor. "Agreed, none of them are smart/diabolical(lol) enough to match either Joker or Luthor.

I don't know. I think you could mark that as one of Superman and Batman's biggest failures is that they have such high profile bad guys that keep coming back so much. I think the Red Hood would agree with me, lol. At least WW tried to kill Ares (successfully too, he just came back as a ghost because gods are jerks like that...).
As an archnemesis I would say ares, they have been at it since the start, but on a more frequent basis I would go cheetah..
Lol, sure. Joker doesn't have the slightest inclination towards world domination, he only took over the world that one time because he could. If Cheetah got ahold of Mr. Mxy's powers, she'd take over the world too, because hey, why not? . The last time she showed up, she seemed to be a higher up member of the society, and she successfully destroyed the DMA headquarters (a bit higher teir then bank robbery). And she and Ares clearly hate Wonder Woman as much as Joker/Lex hate their respective enablers. Plus, Wonder Woman has been fine with killing for a while now, as long as it's for the right reasons. And in her current comic, she's killing people left and right.
I've always agreed with that. I mean how many people have to die because you let the same freak live a THOUSAND TIMES!?! Like does Superman think that one day Darkseid will just say "You know what? Forget the anti-life equation and ruling over the cosmos. I'm happy with Apokalips." and then thank him for showing him the light?
Lol, yeah. And maybe the Joker will learn the error of his ways and get a real job at Starbucks or something.
I think the animated film sort of captures it... a little girl says, "Look! It's Wonder Woman!" who proceeds to lasso and KO Cheetah, however, the film focused on Ares.
So Wonder Woman's nemesis is Cheetah... but Princess Diana of Themyscira's nemesis is Ares.
Part of me thinks Cheetah and the other is saying Ares. I'm going to side with Ares, though. He goes back further than when Wonder Woman even existed and never really seemed to be a big fan of Themyscira to begin with. Along with Zeus, who also always wants to mess with that damn island in some way or another, I'd say he's threatened the Amazons the most.
