    Wonder Woman

Character » Wonder Woman appears in 8808 issues.

The Amazon princess, blessed with god-like super abilities, Wonder Woman is one of Earth's most powerful defenders of peace, justice, and equality and a member of the Justice League. She is considered an archetype for many heroines outside of comic book. Her initial origin depicted her as a clay baby brought to life by patron goddess Aphrodite, but in recent years she has been depicted as the daughter of Zeus and Amazon queen Hippolyta.

What kind of WW shall we get in Dawn of Justice?

I was curious as to what kind of Wonder-woman we will get in Dawn of Justice. I mean for example will she fly on her own? I find the whole invisible jet thing cheesy and annoying since Batman would be the one expected to resort to technology to glide or fly a bat-jet.I think she should be made to fly but perhaps with a different flight signature to use aviation language, since she has access to magic maybe her flight power can be shown to be different to Superman’s.. like have some glow surround her so that she has streaks of light trace her flight-path.I think it would be wonderful to have a light-hearted scene where they have an aerial race or at least a competitive one where she and superman have to battle some aerial enemies and keep score while pulling some cool flight moves

Also we see Superman’s body being almost impervious to any kind of physical damage, how would Wonder-woman be shown in that regard, does she have higher speed to dodge or use her bracelets to block projectiles? I think it would be better to show her have a healing ability, so that she does get a cut or bruise but it heals almost instantaneously, nothing too extreme like Martian manhunter regenerating limbs but more like Wolverine.

The lasso to me personally is a bit problematic,if it were a true lasso it would be underwhelming in a live action film, because that highly limits its utility. I think it would work better if it was some high tech energy type whip, that lets her fight off enemies at close range and at some distance. Honestly I don’t think it should be used in truth obtaining exploits, that power could be her own mystic power to compel people to tell her whatever she wants to know.

    Any ideas?

Probably a Xena clone portrayed by a bad actress. I highly doubt Zack understands Wonder Woman.

A dark and boring one not true to the character most likely with WB trying so hard to chase the success of The Dark Knight.

I expect to see Gal do a mean face and deliver the usual platitudes. What I loved about Sydney Bristow is that she didn't have to do any of that to be a believable badass woman, she just was.

The fact that they didn't cast someone like Gina Carano (who as hard as it is to believe some people wanted for the role) makes me feel pretty hopeful that they're not going to try and turn Wonder Woman into some Xena clone. I think Gal Gadot was a great casting choice. She's got the right looks and a natural presence that just feels right for Wonder Woman.

As for what we'll see of her in the movie I assume her role will be relatively minor. We'll get a few scene of her through out the movie then she'll join up full force for the final fight. The probably won't go too into her backstory other then maybe tying into Man of Steel by saying that the World Machine too down her islands invisibility field or something like that.

Thing I'm hoping for is that they don't try and force for Diana Prince ID into this film. If the director of her solo film decides to go in that direction then so be it, but it has no place in this movie. I'm hoping earlier in the film before she shows off her powers that we get to see her dipping into some more humanitarian causes. Like Princess Diana giving a speech at the UN peace summit or something.

Xena is a Wonder Woman clone in certain ways,WW can't copy a character that came 54 years after her.

Of course she can. Xena was more of a pure warrior at heart whereas Diana is a warrior but also very compassionate in nature. Xena and Wonder Woman are two different characters.

Notice how much badassery WW has in every animated film? Why can't they replicate that more in the comics? lol

Soft weapons in general are pretty badass. I always point to this video to show what Wonder Woman using her lasso could look like in live action film. I think she should be able to do more long range grappling then what is actually possible with that type of weapon because the advantage of film is that you can get away with that.

A warrior. Her speed should be equal to superman, and she should be blocking bullets with her bracelets. Superman was pretty darn durable, she should be just a little bit below him. Being as strong as faora would be good enough for me.

I think I just thought of what could be the best case scenario for Wonder Woman in this movie. Assuming the final villain is Metallo (I'd rather it be Brainiac but that's another subject) then I could see the final fight going like this:

Batman is worn out from his earlier fight with Superman plus all his best tech has been trashed. Making him useless in the fight especially without prep. Superman looses because of kryptonite. While both of them are laying on the ground useless Wonder Woman swoops in and curb stomps Metallo.

@foamborn: In the animated films she has done some pretty amazing moves to some "males" as well. They just like to stack her up to other females cause the guys on the team may be uncomfortable hitting female villains.

If they were to have to fight Metallo soon after fighting each other then I'd think that would be a reasonable outcome. I'm sure they wouldn't want to make their two biggest paychecks look bad though. Wonder Woman should be able to take out Metallo pretty easy on her own though, and that's actually part of the reason I don't really expect him to be in the movie.

Brainiac is more of a villain that might require the whole trinity to take down. I also think him popping up would develop more organically out of the events of Man of Steel.

Muffin_Sangria I agree totally, I doubt the muscle villain in Dawn of Justice is Metallo, unless Metallo or an army of roots is the first phase of Lex's plan, kind of like a military contract he has developed with the DoD..from here I can see his prototypes being the cannon fodder to Batman's drones and tech and WW ,on a side story Victor Stone is also put under the programme somehow and becomes cyborg. All reveals(however speculative) so far hint that Lex has used Zod's tissue to somehow generate or create Doomsday. So the real villain of the film finale will be Doomsday UNLESS his scene is a button scene leaving him as a villain for the Justice League film..I dont know if that is what the story writers want to do. I would prefer he makes his entrance in this movie to be a threat huge enough to necessitate the formation of the JL starting with the trinity by the film's end.

Plus off course Doomsday brings the 'badassery' that can top MoS in terms of action and would require Superman to seek Batman's and Wonder woman's assistance.

I can't see Wonder Woman save the day in Dawn of Justice, that's about as likely as me being visited by extraterrestrials tonight. Obviously Superman and Batman won't get along very nicely in the beginning but then a very challenging supervillain(s) comes along so they have to put their differences aside, everyone else will also be in the movie and thus is born the Justice League. I think the villains will be Lex working in conjunction with someone else. I'm thinking Lex will hurt Superman but then the World needs Superman to do something only Superman can do so Batman has to neutralize Lex while Wonder Woman takes a few flying robots out of the way and struggles with that.

If it's actually true that she'll be in the final fight then I'd expect them to do their best to make her look badass. They do want to spin her off into her own franchise after all. It's true though that they wouldn't do it at Superman, or Batman's expense though.

That's why it's actually kinda doubtful that the villain will be Metallo since that's a fight that she should be able to show them up in. Also since Cyborg is being introduced in this film I find it doubtful that they would introduce another half robot person as well.

I think Brainiac makes the most sense as the villain. Instead of being another random invader from space I think Lex will discover the Brainiac program while investigating the left behind Kryptonian tech. It's possible that they might avoid using Brainiac just because Marvel is coming out with Ultron the year before.

Still he fits really well into what you said. Superman, and Wonder Woman take on all his drones. Superman might be the one who takes on the "big" one. Batman will probably be breaking into Lex Corp so he can disconnect Brainiac from the main hard drive. I'm betting that Lex will someone get off scot-free at the end though so they can set him up as more of a main villain in a later movie.

Yeah I agree, Brainiac makes the most sense because whoever this villain is, he or she needs to be challenging for the whole league, so someone with battalions of subordinates or machines, it's gotta be a world invasion that brings all these heroes together. I just hope they find a way to make the Justice League look like 7 equal individuals that need each other as opposed to 5 playing second string to Batman and Superman, as the name of the movie suggests. Dawn of Justice will be Wonder Woman's long-overdue debut in Hollywood, I don't want this to come across like she's a supporting character within the Justice League.

I think she'll have a good showing in Batman v Superman. How they'll balance things out in Justice League when there's 7+ members is another question. I guess there's a chance they could use her for the Worf Effect trope a bit too much.

Let's hope for the best, 2016 is still so far away, who knows I may be into Angela, the Assassin of Asgard when Dawn of Justice premiers. I reckon I will be if this ordeal continues
