For starters, I am not an avid reader of Wonder Woman, this is something I intend to fix at some point by starting to read her books at one point or another, I find her to be a VERY fascinating character, even if I once thought her to be pretty flat, I decided to make this topic in reference to Wonder Woman's position today as a character which "aparently" is not selling well and who is not connecting with as many audiences as DC Comics would want, take notice, I am not insulting anyone here.
That said, there is plenty of doubts about wether Frank Miller still has a career in comic books, after "Dark Knight: Boy Wonder" nobody is really looking forward to his next project (sp).
Yet, I've always wondered, for a writer who has a VERY set and clear view of women, how would he write Wonder Woman ?
A lot of people accuse him of being misoginystic prick, which is quite reasonable, but (kill me if you must) I believe him to be one of the very few writers capable of grasping the themes surrounding the Wonder Woman mythos, which is something that I haven't exactly seen in the spotlight when dealing with Wonder Woman, one doesn't exactly feel one is reading something akin' to the material that influenced the character.
This is another reason why I loved Wonder Woman's most recent animated film, I think it took plenty of advantage of the literary background of the character.
In that same respect, I feel that a good, shapen up, with a couple of slaps to the face Frank Miller can very well do something with the character.
Agree ? Disagree ? What do ya'll think ?
