In an issue of the recently launched Justice League of America, Steve Trevor and his team encounter a robot doppelganger Trinity. The doppelganger Wonder Woman had a costume similar to her Azzarello/Lee "Superman: For Tomorrow" costume, with the long skirt as opposed to pants or shorts. The suit even featured a lighter, more "patriotic" shade of blue, even lighter than Pre-New 52! This costume SHOULD BE not only Wonder Woman's main costume, but her costume in a potential film.
Wonder Woman
Character » Wonder Woman appears in 8719 issues.
The Amazon princess, blessed with god-like super abilities, Wonder Woman is one of Earth's most powerful defenders of peace, justice, and equality and a member of the Justice League. She is considered an archetype for many heroines outside of comic book. Her initial origin depicted her as a clay baby brought to life by patron goddess Aphrodite, but in recent years she has been depicted as the daughter of Zeus and Amazon queen Hippolyta.
The recent JLA costume is perfect
@jointron33: Picture?
@lilben42: wish i had it. Just google Justice League of America 3 preview
@snascimento: She doesn't look as bada** with pants.
@jonny_anonymous: She should be dressed as a Greek warrior/superhero.
She wears the suit to honor the country from which she is going to (America), not ancient Greece. Thus, while the suit should logically start out as a more Greco-Roman inspired armor, it should evolve into a more delicate and regal superheroine costume. She could have a cloth long-skirted "superhero" costume, and a battle ready armor resembling the Chiang armor.
@veshark: She is a woman, you know.
@veshark: She is a woman, you know.
No kidding. I said 'too effeminate', meaning a little too girly. Chiang's gladiator skirt still kept the femininity but added this gladiator edge.
Nope.
She should be dressed as a greek warrior not a swim suit model

These guys know it. Even with her new origin I still see Wondy as a greek warrior. Look in google images for "Hoplite" and that's a basic template of what Wondy should look like, minus the helmet. I was actually just drawing a "redesign" of her for fun. It's basically an armored red top and a greek-like leather skirt, and some grieves on her legs. Hell, just look at Xena. She ripped off Wondy's outfit in essence and just changed the color. See the costume she wore when she visited Hephaestos and you got what is IMHO Wondy's best costume yet.
There is one option few people ever looked at. In Ancient Greece, Amazons were usually depicted wearing oriental/foreign (Persian, Scythian, Thracian) clothes and armour to emphasize their "unnatural, alien and barbaric" nature (Ancient Greek opinion, not mine.) So maybe those could be a source of inspiration.
Either that or go for a more stylized look, like an Art Deco or Art Nouveau interpretation of Ancient Greece. Maybe something in the same line of thought as the costumes in Thor.
Nope.

Exactly, couldn't agree more
@powerherc: Right.
Thinking back,
No one ever seemed to be in an uproar whenever Linda Carter changed into Wonder Woman's costumes with pants-motorcycle gear or full head to toe scuba gear. It was actually cool & not questioned that a woman hero would have several changes of clothes.
I am not a fan of pants on her anymore than I want Batman without his cowl or Supes bald.
Point: she is a lady. Why won't they write her with various interchangeable costumes with one or two main variations?
