The Amazon princess, blessed with god-like super abilities, Wonder Woman is one of Earth's most powerful defenders of peace, justice, and equality and a member of the Justice League. She is considered an archetype for many heroines outside of comic book. Her initial origin depicted her as a clay baby brought to life by patron goddess Aphrodite, but in recent years she has been depicted as the daughter of Zeus and Amazon queen Hippolyta.
I think you can move this yourself, new update for the site.
As for Wonder Woman's origin, I'm not an expert on her but if Infinite Crisis changed her origin then I'm pretty sure Of Gods and Mortals is no longer canon. Her Pre-52 origin would basically be: made from clay, came to america, fought crime and founded the JLA.
Being a new 52 reader I have been delving into some of the pre-Flashpoint background and I have a question about Wonder Woman's origin. Her post-crisis origin is Of Gods and Mortals but that takes place in the timeline right before Legends with a pre-existing Justice League. At the end of Infinite Crisis when the timeline gets changes and she becomes a founding member again does Of God's and Mortals get pushed backwards into the timeline or does her origin change like Green Lanterns? If it does change do we ever get it? Does it mean Of Gods and Mortals wasn't in pre-52 continuity post Infinite Crisis or is it just slightly changed in how people remember it (kinda like how people remmber Barry Allen's death)?
pre 52 wonder woman's oring was being made out of clay and brought to life by the gods and reciving the blessings from them,it's the same origin that was used since the 60s until 2011.
Yeah I know, but my question was kind of referring to the placement or canonicity of that story line and whether we got another origin story line like Superman:Secret Origin after Crisis.
Not sure about your first question, I never thought about it like that. I read comics more as self contained novels. So don´t know about continuity questions.
