DC Comics has announced"Womanthology's"Renae De Liz will write and illustrate a new digitalcomic series titled "The Legend of Wonder Woman," which focuses on Diana's origin. The nine-issue miniseries will debut in January 2016.

With inks and colors by Ray Dillon, De Liz's series focuses on Diana's life on Themyscira before she left the island to enter Man's World and fulfill her destiny as the Justice League's Wonder Woman. While most of the story will take place during her childhood on the island, the series will also explore her rise as Wonder Woman.

This looks like it could be very interesting ... I'm a little concerned about yet another origin story, but there is potential for this to be very good.

Yet another origin story?? How many times has a classical origin even been explored?? Maybe twice. I hope it´s a little more grown up than the Sensation Comics but I´m excited.

How long can you keep selling the same thing over and over again? The answer for DC and MARVEL is forever!

Put these old, dated and tired characters to sleep already boys and girls...please.

If they can sell Batman's parents getting killed for the trillionth time, I see no reason to complain about Diana getting an origin tale that's not 52 related.

Keep in mind I think they are launching this around the time BvS comes out, and we may not need an origin tale, but I don't think general audiences know her origin tale as well as we may think.

diana's father is zeus. I will not buy another origin fanfiction story. azzarello is the man.

JMS, Azzarello, Gail Simone, Perez and probably Morrison have all explored takes on her origin. This'll make 5 origin tales in the last 5(?) years?

you are right , i was looking for something new that time but that story was like old gum and the art and city was not my taste so i thought the finch would do better, it is better in the art but the story is the same old gum pulled forever thing. Guess i am more the green lantern - superman type

i like diana, wonder woman but her stories are not for me : ) I also like superman but he has more alien enemies so i would like some mundane stories with him. I channel these things through the harley comic so everything is fine for me.

i know her from the justice league cartoon. that was some cool show back then. sorry for being not nice to you before...you guys all must suffer with all that finch run. Honestly i couldn't make that better if i were a writer and i don't know anything about her pre52 so please don't be too hard to me : D

@csg_cl: Yup and it's not even a fraction of the number of times Batman and Superman's origins have been explored.

@agent_z: which doesn't mean anything except folks need to get original from time to time. Personally I get bored with retelling origins every couple of years.

The general audience can go suck a fatty, and pick up a comic book while they're at it!
