Live-Action Wonder Woman Takes Another Step

Posted by G-Man (34325 posts) - - Show Bio
A couple weeks ago, it was reported that talk of a live-action Wonder Woman movie was starting back up.  The IESB received word from a source saying that Warner Bros. and Silver Pictures are now on track in searching for a director.  They mentioned that the two are "enthusiastically working together to attach elements to the film to get it up and going quickly."

That's good news.  Once a director is on board, then we can really expect things to get moving.  Hopefully a script is also being worked on, unless they plan on using one of the many that has been written recently with all the false starts the movie has had.

It will be interesting to see who will be chosen.  As will when an actress is cast.  I just watched the animated Wonder Woman again last night (with my daughter).  It shows that a movie can be done.  Sure that may have been animated but there is a story to be told.  Wonder Woman is a great character that everyone knows.  She just hasn't received the respect she deserves.  It's clear that this is a movie pretty much all of us want to see.

Who would be a good director for this?  What about in playing Wonder Woman?  Should it be a well known actress or would an unknown be better?

Hmmmm....a good Wonder Woman directed....screw what everyone thinks, I'd say Zack Snyder would be perfect for this movie.

Just wish it will happen.  Don't know who they'd cast for the role of Wondie, an unknown wouldn't be a bad idea.   Someone statuesque, athletic, attractive, preferrably raven-haired.   I'd elect Jessica Biel but she may not just be the right choice.

Jessica Biel would be my first choice of actress to play Wonder Woman in the movie but I'm open to see who they would choose for the famous comic book character. As for the director of the Wonder Woman movie I would have to go with Gore Verbinski the directer of The Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy thats the first person I thought of but there is possible other directors that could do a good job as well.

I think it has to be an unknown.

As nice as Megan Fox is to look at, I believe she's only 5"6".  Wonder Woman has to be taller than that.  Like at least 6'.

Even So, Fox still looks Sexy in that outfit (Come on you know you like it!) and you never know if I was at the movies I wouldn't even care about how tall she was, who would!? (Plus she's just hot to look at!)

Yeah, I think an unknown actress would be more interesting, instead of being an established name.  Anyway, now that Megan Fox is going to do Fathom, she might not have the time to be Wondy as well.

Who ever the actress they cast needs to be statuesque! With the physique, the beauty, and the acting chops to boot!
It's a hard call......I gotta put some thought into who could fill Diana's bustier.

Any well known actress that you know off ;-)

it doesnt matter if megan fox is a couple of inches shorter she looks the part and this wouldn't be the first time that they used someone who wasn't the right height of a comic book character to play the part. Wolverine played by Hugh Jackman is Wolverine he's perfect as Wolverine but Wolverine in the comics is  5'3" and Hugh is like 6'3"

There's stripper who look hot in that outfit too, doesn't mean they're right to play the role. (Probably have better acting skills than Fox though...)

Now this is a step in the right direction! Minus the eagle head between the breastplate.

What I like most about this poster is the realistic look of the armor.

I say the actress they choose should be an unknown. Her looks shouldn't be too important, Hollywood magic an make up for that. I'm sorry guys but Megan Fox would be a terrible choice, she's more suited for the (Micheal Turner's) Aspen flicks.

Yeah I'd throw up if I saw her play Wonder Woman. There's much better choices.

I think Megan Fox is hot as hell, but she'd be too young to play Diana.
That being said......Megan would be perfect for Donna Troy!

#17 Posted by The Human Stain (83 posts) - - Show Bio

That makes more sense.

I would care. You'd be surprised. Wondy fans are very picky.

How about that girl of Doctor House? the one that appeared in the OC :p

#20 Posted by Nibiru (689 posts) - - Show Bio

Lucy Lawless would have been perfect for the role... Too bad they took so long to get the ball rolling.

I hate to say it but I have the feeling this won't go anywhere, how many times have we heard of things like this? Hope I'm wrong

i think the animated movie was awesome. great story with a mature tone and good acting. Id like to see the live action movie handled with the same mature respect as that, or "the dark knight" and NOT the way of "catwoman" with blatant disregard to source material and pandering to box office receipts by casting a well known hot babe.
Wonder Woman is an amazon and should be played by someone who looked different and exotic. Mediteranian or Indian woman are very exotic and have an otherworldy quality that would suit her best. sorry Megan Fox isnt it!  Womder Woman speaking like she was raised in Hollywood doesnt ring true to the character.

Ridley Scott directs, while actress is an unknown

both won't happen

#27 Posted by DonnaTroy (1 posts) - - Show Bio

"wahwahwah Hugh Jackman was taller wahwahwah"

Wolverine's height is circumstantial, Wondie's height is part of her culture - she's an Amazon: a statuesque, muscular warrior who is at least SIX FEET TALL.

Megan Fox would be an horrific choice.

:D.

That is all.
#29 Posted by Shadowdoggy (3815 posts) - - Show Bio
@DonnaTroy:
horrific and a total insult to her fans
Wonder Woman would kick the crap out of Megan Fox, just for the sake of womankind everywhere
she's no amazon

@Shadowdoggy:
True, true. This thread is just begging for scans of that Wonder Woman issue with the bad movie being made about her XD. She even says at the end that the movie should be put on the backburner, but maybe the time has come.

Megan Fox will never play the role of Wonder Woman even if she wanted to. She's a terrible actress and I'm glad she won't be in Transformers 3. And she hates Wonder Woman anyway and says she and Superman aren't dark enough like Batman... really, it's people like that who have caused the writers to try to urbanize and make Wonder Woman more gritty. Wonder Woman doesn't need to be like that. They just have to improve on what's already there rather than rewrite her completely.

I vote for definetely an unknown

I just hope they don't dumb down the script. I always hate how female characters are usually pit against another woman. Like they aren't strong enough to battle a man. Or maybe they're just afraid of showing a man hitting a woman. Personally, I actually like female characters more for the most part, so don't usually mind this, but I don't like when they feel pushed.  I know there are several instances of this not being true, like with Ares or the male Cheetah, but for the most part I think it is. Remember the Supergirl movie... ech. Wonder Woman really has one of the least regarded rogues galleries I think. As far as the movie, I think it should take a Clash of the Titans meets modern world feel.

@The Guardian-Knight.: She would be an aweful Wonder Woman.

I think Demi Moore would make a good Wonder Woman.
She's sexy and strong.

Demi Moore? you must be kidding! you know she is near 50 years old!! Wonder Woman is not that old!

i say it again i want unknown Actress

@WW-Fan:
agreed
I think an unkown is the best option by far!

Why is it taking DC so long to make a movie that's not about Superman or Batman?

I think Megan Fox is hot as hell, but she'd be too young to play Diana.

That being said......Megan would be perfect for Donna Troy!

Can't. She dissed Wonder Woman. Said she was "lame". Man, it feels really weird to want to punch someone who's so hot in the face.
