    Wonder Woman

Character » Wonder Woman appears in 8805 issues.

The Amazon princess, blessed with god-like super abilities, Wonder Woman is one of Earth's most powerful defenders of peace, justice, and equality and a member of the Justice League. She is considered an archetype for many heroines outside of comic book. Her initial origin depicted her as a clay baby brought to life by patron goddess Aphrodite, but in recent years she has been depicted as the daughter of Zeus and Amazon queen Hippolyta.

    Is Paradise Island WW's Krypton?

It's destroyed, she's cut off from it, or her sisters are gone...

Do writers feel the need to make Diana the last Amazon to make her seem more Superman like?

Diana is already a super Amazon from her weapons to her abilities. Her mission taking her away from the island already puts distance between her and her people.

Destroying the island or doing away with the Amazons always seems like overkill, especially if it adds no value to drive the story. WW never mentions them, so what was the point or impact?

It's a fair comparison. She is, in essence, alone now -- she is unable to call on her fellow Amazons to help her -- so yes, she's like a lone ranger -- very much like Superman.

At least you found something which can tie Azzarello's Wonder Woman to the one in JL.

Yes and no. Superman has no Krypton as he knows nothing of it really seeing as he was an infant when it was destroyed. Wonder Woman lost people she knows and has lived with for years. Her background seems more closely related to Martian Manhunter's at this point imo.

Well, she's the last female Amazons but they're still the male Amazons who work with Hephaestus.

There not dead. When Hera gets her powers back she will probably turn them back.
