Joblo is reporting that the first Wonder Woman movie will be a prequel to Batman v Superman and feature a cameo from Batffleck. Wonder Woman and Batman will develop some kind of relationship that will carry over to Batman v Superman.

The majority of the film will be set in modern day with flashbacks to WWI where presumably Wonder Woman defeated Ares. The main villain will be Circe with Ares behind the scenes pulling the strings.

Batman is going to be in the movie? I see WB is wasting no time making her another one of Batman's whores again.

I'm glad Circe will be the main villain. She deserves more attention.

@somayareece: Steve is in the movie so if this is true, it should quench the rumor that she's involved with Batman in Dawn of Justice. We knew that Batman would be the linchpin of the DCEU so I'm not surprised. It's just a small cameo by the sound of it

i doubt rumors are true because they rarely are but i dont want batman near her he ruins enough of what i like about her

I also hope they don't have Steve dominate the story like he did in the animated film

It sounds really cool. I cant wait to see Circe and Ares as the villains. Im also glad the Invisible Jet is going to be used and Steve Trevor is going to be in the present.

It also seems like Batman is going to be serving as the Nick Fury of the DCEU to connect all of the dots. It would be cool if it lead up to a Tower of Babel adaptation.

I'm okay with this as an outline for the film ... Still not sure why they seem to be picking WWI as the origin point rather than the traditional WWII, but from the rumors it doesn't seem like it's going to be instrumental behind some background story.

As for Batman being in the movie, one one hand I don't mind because he's just trying to round up members for the Justice League but on the other hand I feel like WB and DC are focusing too much on Batman.

Well as much as I didn't want any other heroes in the Wonder Woman movie, I'm still willing to bet it could be a good movie.

@somayareece: I don't mind the idea of a period piece (at least in part). It can establish her immortal nature and gives her history, I just don't see the point of associating her with a time period she's never been involved with instead of her origin era.

I was optimistic at first, but now I see they have already failed with the "solo" part of the Wonder Woman "solo" film.

Nothing has made me as ill about this film more than seeing them do the one thing I had long hoped they wouldn't do and that was shoe-horning Batman in somewhere and yes...inevitably making WW one of his many romantic trysts.

If it is just an introductory scene a la Nick Fury or whatever, fine, but we all know its not going to be just that.

At least Superman got lucky and got a film without him. Albeit a mediocre--at best--one, but he was truly solo nonetheless.

Why settle for less when you are dealing with an immortal? Like whats the appeal of Vandal Savage?

I don't dislike the idea of a period piece and I think it's potentially a nice nod to her long history as a character. I see no point in making WWII (or WWI for that matter) the focus of the entire movie, but flashbacks to the era can help tell her whole story if done effectively.

Unlike VS, Diana has more than JUST immortality as a power so she's got a lot more appeal IMO ... all they need to do is flashback to 100 years ago to establish that she's immortal and move on to more interesting aspects of her mythology.

@outside_85: What's the appeal of involving Wonder Woman in 2 of the biggest humanitarian disasters of the 20th century. We'll see how they handle that, but bear in mind that Fuchs wrote the script

Seriously though, why would you even bother with making her an immortal an not use it for anything or show the character in some of humanity's defining moments?

@outside_85: Because the World Wars were huge humanitarian catastrophes, and Wonder Woman is a SUPERhero, she's supposed to save the world, make a difference, that's kind of what they're for. IMO, if Ares was the instigator behind the Wars and MILLIONS of innocent people perished before Wonder Woman was able to foil his plans, it's not the most flattering Superhero story...but we'll see we'll see

She's LEAGUES stronger than Captain America, or at least one would hope so. Can you imagine 60 million people killed under Superman's nose? That's why Superman doesn't "get involved". He's got the power to "wipe out the entire human race", Wonder Woman can't even defeat the forces of the Axis Alliance??

Neither could the Spectre or the JSA... or Superman for that matter.

@outside_85: Kingdom Come? Superman would've stopped the nuclear bomb had Shazam let him. And Spectre didn't even get involved, his role was to decide whether or not the metahumans would live or die...

And yes, lots of innocent people died in Man of Steel, Superman fans hate that movie, I mean from what I've gleaned, that left a really bad taste in their mouth

She might not be the biggest box office draw, but depending on how the director portray Circe Eva green has enough skill to incorporate sufficient gravity to the film imo. Then again, I won't mind if some more seasoned actress gets the role. There are certainly better choices out there.

Personally I'd much prefer a story where Wonder Woman's capable and successful in her heroic endeavors, to one where millions of innocent people perish. We'll just have to wait and see how they handle that, and how powerful she is in the dceu

It took millions of soldiers to fight and win the first and second world war, they were generally regarded as heroes back home, so why would it be bad for Diana to be one of the reasons the Allies won?
