just take down the thread i made, the link doesn't work for that one. looks like after azz leaves, soule will be the only one writing a decent ww until sm/ww ends. then we're stuck with mediocrity ughh...
...Yeah I'm definitely not reading Wonder Woman after Azz is gone if this is true. Finch's Dark Knight series was absolutely atrocious, he made Daniels look like a competent writer in comparison if you compare their series. Plus Finch's artwork doesn't suit the tone of Wonder Woman at all IMO. Plus I don't like it that much. Well I hope the Anti Azzarello brigade is happy because now they have this mess on their hands. For all their whining about Azzarello, Finch's poor writing and ghastly characterisation will make them beg for Azzarello to come back to the series. Mark my words on that one...

You should @ a few of them see how they like it
@lvenger: i hope it just the art and not for writing
To be fair, those who want Azz gone are not having THIS in mind, but simply hoping for something more similar to the good old days. I, for one, do not appreciate what Azz did with the Amazon origin, and think that Diana is a bit too naive/reactive... Despite the flaws, I consider Azz's WW the most decent version in new52. And I love Chiang's art.
According to this news WW will be more like her JL version which is generally acknowledged as utter cr@p. WW has no place in Forever Evil, so I don't know about Finch's idea of her. I heard that the Dark Knight series is pretty far away from good so no hopes on the writing. And based on the picture of another over-sexualised, height-shrinked WW I feel bad instantly.
But if he's bad enough I guess DC will ask someone else to takeover the title?
I like his art style for Wonder Woman; I'll have to sample some of his writing; we now have an explanation for Wonder Woman's future and can breathe easy. I'll definitely give him a chance, as his art style is so suitable for comic books. There will be some initial disappointments, as was the case with the start of Azz's run, but, lets see if Finch can bring intrigue and hold firm.
@hastalavista: To give you an example of a Finch-drawn WW:
Well, on the bright side, this allows me more room in my budget for other comics I've been wanting to collect...
@outside_85: My eyes! Why does she look like a Cupie Doll!? Ok, I'm being dramatic. Everything is fine from the neck down. Well and her height seems off.
@Lvenger Wait he's taking over WRITING duties? I thought it was pencils, the link wasn't working. This is even worse than I'd feared! Ahhhh!!!
I loved the mythology-centric WW.
@hastalavista: To give you an example of a Finch-drawn WW:
Just like I said, over-sexualised, height issue, etc. Plus they look like that they are going to smash the hell out of someone who owes Superman a million dollar. Maybe Kal's x-ray vision does come in handy when playing poker in the casino.
David Finch is one of the worst artists in comics today. His work is absolutely atrocious. He makes Forever Evil very hard to look at and I honestly have no idea why DC keeps this man around. He doesn't create art, he destroys it. If he's going to be on Wonder Woman then I'm probably going to end up dropping the title.
I'm cool with it
Really? The guy can't write comics to save himself
@hastalavista: If DC was in the habit of asking bad writers to leave, Scott Lobdell and Ann Nocenti would have been out of jobs years ago.
And to your other comment; I wouldn't exactly call that over-sexualized. I'm not a fan of that either (mostly the height and the head bug me) but that's her standard New 52 costume. Sure she's got a hip slant, but...c'mon.
...okay the hip slant is very '90s. Like Liefeld if he could draw decent and knew basic anatomy.

Hip slant is the sauce brah!
What i hate most is the "more like her JL version" thing that means a lot of crossovers from now on. She isn't against the gods. I hope you are happy with the results Azz haters you make this happen.
@jonny_anonymous: Is he on writing duty or art (lesser of two evils)?
@jonny_anonymous: That's really well drawn...
...from the waist up.
Jesus dat ass goes on for days! She looks like a damn Centaur. It's coming out the middle of her back! The more I look the less I like. I'm scared!
@jonny_anonymous: That'd be a strech given my relations with those fans are...frosty at best mostly :P
@darknightspideyfanboy I think it's for writing as well as art according to the article. Man this sucks, Wonder Woman is like the opposite of Green Arrow now. It'll probably go from one of the best New 52 titles to one of the worst once Finch takes over :(
@wolverine08: It's soooo saucey. The sass of dat ass!
@jaken7: I can live with the over-sexualised thing, the whole comic world is doing it. But why is she always standing in that position? Standing like that is really bad for the bone joints and the muscles around them... I know she has great-looking butt but please, the artists need to work on her posts and come up with something new.
Oh, about that bad writer remark, you just emptied my trash bin where my deleted hopes lay :/
I like his art but for Batman stuffs, he'll oversexualize WW and if he's also writing then God save us. I'll be dropping the book after Azz's run is finished. The Azz haters could at least read his run but now they'll run as far as they can from this book, well maybe not powerwoman, she'll love it.
...isn't anyone going to at least try the book with the new writer before dropping it?!
I must be one of a minority as I love the Batman Dark Knight night terrors book, which is by Finch. I jumped aboard Wonder Woman from Issue 27 onwards and am enjoying the current Azzarrello story, albeit with the reservations I have already expressed about there being a lack of feats and too much greek god emphasis. Actually, talking about greek gods, it has certainly improved my greek mythology knowledge, useful for the pub quizzes I do!!
I will read the first issue under whoever is writing it before making any judgements.
dshipp17 will be happy to hear this. There's another stripper baking in the oven for him. Something about her face, she looks pretty but pretty stupid. His pencil work is actually sublime save the Women who look like little barbie dolls. It's mostly the coloring in Forever Evil that puts me off. Chiang's WW verged on perfection but all good things come to an end I guess.
@hastalavista: I sawwy.
Could you imagine if he was both scripting and penciling? Even DC's Trinity isn't sacred these days.
@jaken7: Well, considering she's the only one among the big3 who doesn't have a second (or should I say 2.5 for SM/WW's sake) title, and that still she can't get better treatment in her own title (assuming the news is true), I wouldn't counting on her being treated as sacred. Perhaps Harley Quinn is more sacred than Diana because she is kind of a sales star now.
@hastalavista: Harley's an excellent character and I'm enjoying her series. Having said that, the fact that she's overshadowing WW so hard (at the very least in sales) baffles me. Hell, even the second-tier trinity (Flash, Green Lantern, and Aquaman) are dominating WW. In exposure, sales, etc.
@jaken7: But is that Harley's fault as a character, or the fact she is being handled by what really is a fan-favorite team thats playing to their collective strengths? I happen to think it's more down to the creative team, it wasn't as if Suicide Squad was a seller and it had Harley as one of the main attractions.
@lvenger: just saw went to his twitter page he say he not fan of answering rumor but he is a huge fan of Azz wonder woman btw if dc wanted someone who had the same style as david finch but draws a better wonder woman they should of went with jason fabok
@bezza: me i'll give it 2-3 issue if i like i like it if not il drop it but at the moment i don't trust finch writing
@darknightspideyfanboy: Ah is that Fabok's Wonder Woman? Not bad though he's better at the Batman/grittier sort of artwork. That fits his art palette much better but Wonder Woman was a dark series and dark looking book so there's that factor as well.
