It's only a matter of time until DC releases a Wonder Woman film. With a Justice League film promised, DC will be forced to first produce a Wonder Woman film; similarly to Marvel releasing Iron Man, Hulk, Thor and Captain America films before releasing The Avengers, DC will have to release Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman Films. Batman has already been done, and Superman is on it's way next year. But what about Wonder Woman? Green Lantern co-writer Michael Goldenberg has been hired to write a script for Wonder Woman, but no actress has been cast. Yet. Personally, I think Olivia Wilde would be the perfect Wonder Woman. Check out the picture below, and give me your thoughts.
Wonder Woman
Character » Wonder Woman appears in 8805 issues.
The Amazon princess, blessed with god-like super abilities, Wonder Woman is one of Earth's most powerful defenders of peace, justice, and equality and a member of the Justice League. She is considered an archetype for many heroines outside of comic book. Her initial origin depicted her as a clay baby brought to life by patron goddess Aphrodite, but in recent years she has been depicted as the daughter of Zeus and Amazon queen Hippolyta.
Olivia Wilde: Wonder Woman?
sorry but nope, wonder woman needs some one with an alpha female Mentality, and sadly i never got that from olivia wilde :)
BUT that is just my Opinion
It should be Rebecca Hall
Rebecca Hall
check out this script I wrote for wonder woman fanmande trailer. Its very cool, kind of in the style of Man Of Steel and Batman Begins.
It has a soundtrack as well. really guys, I am super confident you´ll love it, if you love Wonder Woman. I´m writing a screenplay for the a Batman Bergins style take on her mythology. Going for deep and layered psychological realism for the character. Any way heres the link, I´d love your thoughts. very short as well.-

Wonder Woman has been in pre production hell for going on a decade I think, WB has ordered I believe close to 10 scripts that have either been finished and rewritten or totally scrapped.
Im a fan of olivia wilde I think she would be good, love megan fox but she's not much of an actress.
I think casting for her would (and should) be extremely difficult. Finding the right combo of sexy, confident and a body that has a tough look to it while still being appealing. Not sure what the status of the project is given WB's interest in a JL franchise but I see this as the most likely to survive if MOS tanks.
Wilde could work, except the problem with WW is that he has to look youthful and presumably to commit to a movie the producers would be thinking probably a three picture deal at least, and in the case of Wilder then she would be mid-30s when she was making the third one and then maybe not the desirable age for someone that is eternally in her early 20s. They would be better to find someone younger and work with her.
Funny looking and not big enough to play WW. You need someone pretty and athletic, most Hollywood actresses are to "heroin chic" skinny to be believable.
the actress robin in how i met your mother. SHE WOULD BE PERFECT! she is big enough, she is hot enough. she is woman enough.
@G_Money_Christmas: @theTimeStreamer: I agree with the actress who plays Robin. I think especially if they were doing a comedic take on the character, or I mean a film that has a humorous element, which isn´t necessarily a bad way to go with WW. but I really don´t like that people seem to want to go with actresses that just look good, as opposed to really good actresses. Rebecca Hall for me defo; yeah she´s sexy, but more importantly she´s one hell of an actress. I think she´d do a WW, that would make people sit up and notice. I also think, though I doubt she´s a comic fan, she´s the type of actress who would do the research and end up really loving the character as much as comic fans do.
Second if an actor of her caliber is attached, it will get more hype amongst general audiences and bring interest in her movie.
third she´s not too well known, so it will not distract from the character.
fourth and finally, she´s really sexy, but nonetheless women like her, she´s not intimidating to them. I think that´s really important for who they pick. So women don´t think the movie is just selling sex, essentially a film about a woman with a bondage fetish, who likes tying men up while wearing a bathing suit. That will put women off, and therefore, you´ll lose part of the key audience for the film. for it to be a success they need women on board.
Hence, I´ll say it again pick Rebecca Hall or someone of her caliber as an actress.
That´s my reason.
Almost all of these girls are too skinny, anyone who is gonna play Wonder Woman needs to have some meat on their bones ontop of being really pretty.
I think no actress to closely associated with another character will be very good either.. For an example Lucy Lawless, id just see Xena all the time.
@Bruxae: look, lets face it, if girls want ww to have a successful superhero movie, she´s got to have some sex appeal for the men. now the good news is although men would be generally put off if she´s some muscle woman who doesn´t wear the sexy costume we´re use to (armored version New 52 style I hope) men also like strong female characters, we like badass females like Hit Girl and Catwoman. With WW depth and humnanity as well, I think she could bring in a broad audience appealing to many; but sorry women have to get over this notion that she needs to look kind of manish to be realistic. it won´t work, men won´t watch her, movie fails. plus she´s got super strength hence she doesn´t have to look athletic in the way you´re describing. Me personally, the most important thing is a really really talented actress willing to do the research on the character.
and anyone saying Lucy Lui, thank god your not working for WB´s that´s plain stupid.
@jphulk26: I see were you are coming from and I completely agree, although I dont neccesarily mean she needs to be a manish bodybuilder.
I ment something more along the lines of Jessica Biel or Kate Winslet, who is mainstream "hot" yet isnt a stickfigure, I just dont think someone like Olivia Wilde will cut it since she is basically skin on bone.
Oh God - choosing Wonder Woman will be the most difficult decision WB has to make. If they choose a lesser-known actress, people will go crazy - if they choose a well-known actress, people will go crazy... Another thing is the costume - if they make it look corny like the recent TV show one, then people will go crazy, again. Well actually, people won't go crazy, but the costume just might not fit in with the "established" world...
every time someone on comicvine suggests Yvonne Strahovski to play a female super heroine, someone who frequents 4chan eats a kitten. please think of the kittens!
Carano doesn't have the acting skill to play Wonder Woman in a Uwe Boll movie.
you need to find someone that can be what lucy lawless was back during Xena. i would suggest Kat Dennings but she is a minor character in the Thor movies. Kat has the shape for it.
@Bruxae: I agree Olivia Wilde would be awful, but not because of how she looks, but rather, she´s not a good actress as far as I know. But I think for WW movie to be successful, you need two things of the actress that are equally important.
1) women have to be able to relate to her, and not find her intimidating, but rather beautiful on the inside and out. At least women have to perceive her that way to draw in a female crowd. An actress like Winslett would be great for that, but I think she´s wrong for the character.
2) Men must find her hot.
As much as I don´t like it, and I feel like a misogynist for saying it, it´s just true.
That´s why women and men like Michelle Pfiefer as Catwoman so much. She balanced those two elements so well, being sexy in a way women and men could appreciate it. She didn´t intimidate women her beauty, because their was a humanity and fierce femininity about it. Same goes with who they choose for WW. If you get that sense of such power in a really hot woman, men will come flocking, cause nothing gets a man going like the idea of getting a little roughed up by a hot woman. Trust me. Its the masochist in us.
Equally though, if she´s Pamella Anderson in barb wire, ridiculous sexy, she will turn off a female audience. They need to be able to relate to her, that´s why Lynda Carter in her own slightly dated outmoded way was actually really perfect WW for her time. She balanced that appeal to men, with a depth, warmth and femininity that women also appreciated.
@fodigg: Well, she was pretty good in Haywire, though she didn't really blow me away, however, I think if she works hard at it, she can definitely pull off Diana.
@The Stegman: That makes sense, but I always worry about it. I feel like, anyone can get muscles if they're being paid enough to put in the work, not everybody can learn how to act well. I'd be more worried about the prospect of a middling actress than an unmuscled one.
This is all academic though. We know they're just going to cast someone with the most waifish frame possible who can't act anyway.
Rebecca Hall can't play Wonder Woman! She's playing Maya Hansen in Iron Man 3! That would be like someone playing Deadpool and then Green oh wait. :P I thought Gina Carano was a lock to play WW. She's definitely athletic enough, and might be the only actress in hollywood right now that is athletic enough.

Alana De La Garza would be my choice. She tall, 5 9, busty, voluptuous and has a voice that would turn gay men stright if heard in person!

Anyone feelin' Alana De La Garza? She played the Kryptonian named Aethyr in the opening Episode of Smallville; Season 5. I immediately thought Wonder Woman.
You know, without the weird eyes?!?
I posted this already, somewhere else in another thread like this. . . . . http://www.comicvine.com/wonder-woman/29-2048/could-she-pull-off-wonder-woman/92-400427/ . . . 2 years ago
