1. The Wonder Woman Story: (Wonder Woman) Mary Ellen and John Lane have been rivals since they were in diapers. now they are up for the same reporter job at the daily globe. the editor shows them a bunch of fan letters asking questions about Wonder Woman and tells them whoever comes back with the best story about Wonder Woman's origin will get the job. John gives Mary a bracelet, saying it's to show there are no hard feelings but in fact, it hides a hidden transmitter so he can track her and listen in on her.
heading out to find Wonder Woman, Mary gets a flat tire and by chance pushes her car in the way of a criminal Wonder Woman is chasing. because of this, Wonder Woman catches the crook and she asks Mary if there is anything she can do for her. when she explains her situation Wonder Woman takes her to Themyscira where her mother uses the time and space transformer screen to show her the origin of the amazons. how several thousand years ago Aphrodite gave Hippolyta a magic girdle to make her invincible as she lead her amazons against Hercules, who leads the forces of Mars, the god of war. after she defeats him he vows to take the girdle from her one way or another.
2. The Wonder Woman Story Part 2, Act Of Treachery: (Wonder Woman) Hurculeas seduces Hippolyta, claiming to have given up his war-like ways. he asks to examine the magic girdle and the amazon queen agrees but as soon as he has it he shows his true colors. the amazons are defeated and put in chains.
Hippolyta prays to Aphrodite for help and she agrees to break their chains but decrees from then on they will wear iron bands around their wrists to remind them of the folly of submitting to man's dominance.
the freed amazons defeat Hercules and take back the girdle before setting sail and following Aphrodite to a secret island where she tells them to make their home forever. they are told the island is only for women and if a man sets foot on it they will forfeit their peace and security.
the story continues by telling of young Diana's amazing speed and strength, and how she received her bracelets at 15. she was warned that her eternal youth would only last as long as she stayed on the island. years later she sees Steve Trevor's plane crash offshore and dives in to save him. to keep Aphrodite's law from being broken she carries him to a lab outside town for treatment and makes sure his feet never actually touch the ground.
Steve describes the state of the world (early in world war 2) and it is decided 1 amazon will guide him back to man's world and stay to help the Americans in their war against evil, giving up their gift of eternal youth. Diana volunteers but she is told the honor must be won in a competition. she competes wearing a mask (that probably didn't fool anyone) and wins. she is given a costume, magic lasso, and invisible plain and takes Steve back to man's world.
as the story ends an amazon runs up saying a man's plain is falling toward the island. it is John, having followed the transmitted he planted on Mary. Wonder Woman saves him before he can crash and the pair finally confess their love as she flies them back to man's world.
