razzatazz's Wonder Woman #43 - The Armageddon Aria review

Standard achievement in the field of mediocrity

This issue wraps up some of the action from the previous issue and once Diana and Val’s friend have calmed down the Silver Swan they finally learn some of her background.   It seems the first part of the Perez run was based a lot around a bit of mystery behind certain characters but with the second part of his run he seems more interested in telling their background stories in order to fill out their stories.   This isn’t wholly unnecessary but it maybe is to the degree which he has done over the past 15 issues where there have already been four issues dedicated to background stories.   This one is a bit more technical as Val’s powers come as the result of experimentation and not from mythological or mystical powers.   While Perez is advancing the series with plot it seems almost as though he is doing it with too much plot at times.   The issue ends on a bit of a cliffhanger but the story is so mediocre that it doesn’t leave the reader with a strong yearning to find out what is going to happen.
