The Secret of Genocide Is Revealed!
After months of hinting and several issues after her initial appearance the origin of new Wonder Woman foe, Genocide, is revealed! Without giving it away, it's not a secret too many fans could have guessed because it involves time travel and as many of us know, that tends to make things more complicated (just check out the =W= Family).
Being added to the mix is the new character, Achilles, a "Wonder Man" created by Zeus to lead the Olympians and herald a new way of living devoted to the gods of old. While Achilles' speech in front of the UN was powerful (in just a few short sentences), his brief battle against the Amazon princess was unexpectedly one sided, with Diana defeating her foe within minutes. Still, it was a testament to the power and skill of Wonder Woman!
Despite the intense action this chapter of "Rise of the Olympians" makes for a powerful installment with tender moments between the Amazing Amazon and her comatose best friend, Etta Candy. Etta has stood by Diana through the worst of it and one can only hope she pulls through her recovery after a brutal torture session at the hands of Genocide (who's still on the loose). Diana makes a grim vow to end Genocide's reign of terror - let the clash of Titans begin!
