razzatazz's Wonder Woman #204 - Bitter Pills - Part Two review

    They needed him for that?

Continuing the Bitter Pills story arc, this issue focuses mostly on either Themyscira, Leslie's decision to help Diana, or the interaction between Bruce and Diana.  This is a good issue but in a sense something is taken away by the presence of Batman.  Diana has called him in to help with determining who killed Darryl Keyes, but his presence is not really necessary.  Although not displayed as much, Diana is a pretty intelligent person (in fact allusions are made to her intelligence here - including a formal education which has never before been mentioned) and presumably she would be a decent detective as a result, especially so that she has great wisdom.  The reader that has been following the series should know that the person responsible for the murder was Doctor Psycho, though not directly, but with all of the supposed need for Batman he eventually just shows Doctor Psycho on a video camera still, which presumably pretty much anyone at the embassy could have done as well.  The issue was still of a decent caliber though as some of the motivations behind Veronica's actions are explained, plus the sub plot with Circe is picking up some steam.
