    In the shadows

Anyone expecting any kind of resolution to the ongoing store line will not find it here as a new story arc starts (in fact it is strange that there are labeled story arcs in Wonder Woman at the moment, as the story arcs never really stop and run into one another).  There are a few factors at play here.  Diana is still seeking help for Vanessa, Circe is still working some magic to pay off a debt, Veronica continues her scheming and Themyscira must deal with an increasingly agitated US military.  It was fun to seem Batman show up, even if his appearance here is played up for a bit more than who the character really is (upon arriving to the embassy he finds that Diana is not there, and so waits ... in a shadow in the kitchen.)  Overall, though this was a good issue.  It is not exactly what you would expect out of the first part of a story arc.  Usually that would be something more on the degree of introducing some new villains or dire situation.  Here instead though already exisiting problems are compounded and more are added, which might aggravate the reader who has been looking for answers, but mostly it is just some good writing and entertaining drama.
