razzatazz's Wonder Woman #202 - Leaks review

    Secrets revealed

This issue follows a fairly common stereotype of explaining the origin of a villain - the villain here being Veronica Cale.  Veronica discovered the leak in her organization and intended to stop it.  The leak was discovered to be Kimberly Dunn.  In sort of typical manner Kimberly asks Veronica why she is doing what she is doing, to which Veronica gives her a fairly long and drawn out explanation.  Her background story is fairly common as well (almost sounding like a female version of Lex Luthor).  Despite this the origin is told fairly well at least in terms of being a female supervillain, focusing as it does on aspects more of a feminine nature than others.  The explanation of her hatred of Diana is kind of poorly detailed though, almost as if she doesn't like her "just because."  Despite the stereotypes though this issue is handled better than most of the same stereotype, especially in the manner in which the background story is explained, as it is not just a villain explaining everything so that the hero can get a chance to regroup, rather poor Kimberly's fate is not as bright.
