    The promise that wasn't

I am sort of mixed in my opinions of fishnets being worn by comic book heroines.  Here Diana meets Johnny Double and he has a job for her.  His employer wants Diana's help in protecting him.  In doing so she is supposed to wear the costumes of his "milkmaids"

She eventually agrees to wear it but then never does.  I sort of wanted to see her in mod girl attire and fishnets if just for one panel to see what it looked like.  Anyway, it is not really relevant to the issue as a whole.  By protecting Mister Dill, Johnny and Diana are kidnapped by a religious cult that wanted to kill him for having loose moral standards (I sort of saw a connection here to Larry Flynt).  As he has escaped they decide to execute Johnny and Diana instead.  Johnny bargains for their lives promising to produce Mister Dill while Diana is left helpless and in chains.  Eventually she manages to free herself just as Johnny is returning empty handed.  They end up escaping into the cold.  The issue was all right, not great.  It sort of lacked from a lot of action and the plot was a little far fetched. As usual I was a little dismayed by how easily Diana fell into the arms of any man that crossed her path.  I think the cover, despite its bondage theme, is absolutely beautiful.  There was also another training montage.

In all it was an all right issue, but as it is starting to get close to the end of the mod girl era, I would have liked something a little stronger.
