Back in style
As opposed to the overly complicated first part of the two part story arc, this issue is a lot more coherent. There is still a lot of talking going on, but this talking speaks to the previous ten years or so of Wonder Woman publication history, and in a sense sort of seems like Perez trying to clean up the work of all those that followed him. It was still weak in parts, but the numerous twists at the end were completely unexpected and made the effort of reading through the relatively bogged down first issue worthwhile. The decision by Diana and Hippolyta at the end was also a drastic one but one which I felt was well scripted. It is interesting that Perez was back for two issues and the issues represent both the best and worst of what he did for the character.
