razzatazz's Wonder Woman #168 - Paradise Lost 1 Loving Submission review

Styled in black

This issue's story is only so-so.  The main drawback is that it is mostly a huge political debate about a bunch of stuff which has happened to the Amazons, some of it made up and other parts based on mythology, which requires such a thorough knowledge that I lost track numerous times of the references which were being made.  There were some decent point, the combat practice between Diana and Donna was fun, and the words exchanged between Diana, Donna and Hippolyta were well scripted to show a group of people at odds with one another, but overall the scheme of one group of amazons against another was not as compelling as it could be.  This is Perez's brief return to the title which he did so much to revolutionize, but it seemed more like the later issues of his issues than the engaging early ones.
