razzatazz's Wonder Woman #159 - The Golden Age Secret Origin of Wonder Woman review

    Not so secret origin

This issue represented a sort of mini-reboot of the title as many of the staples of the previous few years were ushered out in the previous issue.   As seems to happen any time there is a significant reboot of Wonder Woman her origin gets retold with maybe a few extra details (which may or may not become canon) thrown in.   The same happens here, as the traditional origin story gets another telling.   At this point in the publication history, I don’t imagine it really hurt to tell it again after a long time of just interpreting the origin however a given writer at the time saw fit.   So while it is repetitive I still felt it was also sort of necessary here.   The backup story involves Wonder Woman and Steve captured on Doom Island with the usual assortment of getting trapped in her own lasso or getting bracelets bound together.   Overall the issue was average (especially with the backup story.)
