razzatazz's Wonder Woman #142 - Captives of the Mirage World review

This is how it feels to be a mosquito

I feel safe in labeling this the low point for the first volume of Wonder Woman.  In it the Amazons set off on a contest to capture the most exotic insect.  The tables are turned though when the Wonder family stumbles into a mirage-world were instead they are the insects and are being pursued but giant versions of themselves.  These giant versions never give any indication on why they want to capture the comparably miniature versions of themselves, yet they just keep trying to capture their counterparts.  This gives the reader the bizarre perspective of being an insect, a fact which the family makes known to the reader numerous times ("this is how it feels to be a mosquito").  In the end the giants simply disappear without a trace and the non-compelling action is over.  This is really completely uninspired and not worth the effort.
