Wonder?
I suppose in the overall scheme of things that the depiction of Greek Gods in the modern has some appeal to some people but it is mostly lost on me. There is generally enough of interest in modern day that I don't feel that it is necessary to resurrect the past in such a way, even with a character that is somewhat based on the stories. If this series can be given any credit it is that it has made these character current even if it doesn't always fit. The first half of this issue deals with the gods and their scheming which doesn't have much weight, but in its favour this issue doesn't dwell on it, instead it changes focus quickly to the second half of the issue makes a lot more out of it. In a sense then this issue is almost conveniently split in half, one kind of dry, the other much more exciting. If this issue had only been the second half with some great action and unexpected events (one thing which happens is not seen very often in comics) then it would have been near perfect, but the association of the gods, no matter how relevant it is to the overall story, still drags it back a bit.
