I have a question about Wolverine's last name. I says his name is James Howlett and I found out that his real father was Thomas Logan. So shouldent Wolverine's last name be Logan not Howlett ?

He was raised as a Howlett, and presumably Christened as one, before his father was killed by Thomas Logan.

Well I gess it dose not matter anyway because everybody just calls him Logan. But like my dad always said... "you don't know if you don't ask"

No one even refers to him by his true name, not even Romulus. He is and always has been Logan.

Howlett, James

Logan isn't his name at all but the name given to by his chic at the time Rose, and it was the name of a groundkeeper(Logan Creed) on his parents land who looked pretty much like Wolverine

might be his father but the guy who he did think was his grandfather also have the claws so its not really clear whats happening there

the grounds keeper was named Thomas Logan not Logan Creed and the grandfather only had claws in the Wolverine: The End which was a out of continuity story

uh not sure about the grandfather tho, but trust you since you was right about the groundskeeper

but I thought the Dog was sent out by Wolverine's grandfather

@kasino: well he didn't have the claws in Origins and after rereading The End he didn't even have them there since he was only in one issue and that was a flashback....he never had claws

@nickzambuto: anyone that has read Wolverine Origins would probably have to agree that his name is James Howlett.

Rose changes his name to Logan to protect him when they go to work for the "coal mining business?"

He is known by the name Logan, NOT Logan Howlett, just Logan.

The only people who knows his real name is his immediate family who disowns him, (i truly believe they never/will never speak of him again) and Rose and Dog.

Logan accidentally kills Rose leaving his true name with Dog who presumably tells no one Logan's real name.

I believe his real name dies with Dog. I'm unsure what happens to Dog after origins.

The real mystery to me is why he's nicknamed Wolverine when he is constantly portrayed to "live"/get along with Wolves, not wolverine's.

It's funny that Wolves are pack animals, Logan is not. Wolverines are solo, Logan is.

Just have to take it for what it is i suppose.
