In Ultimate X-men I've noticed a paradox. -When Wolverine (Cable) came from the future he shoot off Rogue's hand. Logan from present gave her his healing factor. In matter of minutes her hand grow back - Few issues later Wolverine was fighting with Apocalipse and his hand was riped off. And even after 30 minutes it didn't grow back, also healing wasn't started yet. The is a big mistake in the story. And even if it grow back it would be no problem cut it and put the old one in place.
The reason why his arm didn't grow back is because Apocalypse took Wolverine's powers away when he ripped his arm off, setting him on the path to becoming Cable 30 years later. You may notice in the Cable arc that he comments that Apocalypse took away his healing factor when he fought him. That's also why he ages.
OK from the begining. Marvel has created the Ultimate series for those people that just started their adventure with Marvel comics and had no idea about any character. In the Ultimate series you can find all the Marvel characters you know but they have a different origins. For examlpe: -Hulk wasn't born from gamma explosion but from the super soldier serum -Tony Stark has a super power -Venom is not an alien but a failed experiment -Their are no mutants only humans mutated by humans Those are only few ,interesting, ideas in Ultimate series. Ultimate Sinister killed ten innocent people and transformed into Apocalypse. A mutant with the power to absorb mutations from a distant and control mutants by will. Wolverine saw the transormation and of course he had to fight with him. Thats all you need to know I hope I helped ;)
